I love being in a state which doesn't require ac to survive! The more i talk to all you and coworkers in the south... sooo happy to be where i am lol...

I think our neighbors or lawn got sprayed. Three out of three household members are sick and it smelled yesterday. And i had a roach on its back in the kitchen sink, twitching, this morning lol. We were all fussy yesterday. I sewed instead of going to the gym. The cats felt so lousy, they let me sleep til almost nine. They get me up at quarter to eight for breakfast.

Luckily hot and humid is out of the ordinary, especially this early. We don't get a whole lot of days over 90 most summers. But we do always seem to get one heat wave before the end of school.

Oh, wish us luck. We have another school budget referendum going on. I just sent DH off to vote on his way to band practice.

Nevermind. It failed by 110 votes. Sigh. Here we go again. I have to wonder what it takes to satisfy those who keep voting no. What amount of money is low enough? Or would they rather the state take over the district completely? Do they think that means the state will cover the education budget? I don't think so. I think that would mean the state would SET the budget and then make us pay for it. How's that going to keep taxes from going up. Man, these people are stupid.

The magic number is 8! Love that we're in single digits. Hate that it's so freakin' hot. It's so hot that we canceled plans to bring the rabbit home tonight. Too much stress in this heat. We'll try again next Wednesday. No rush! I didn't even know I'd be seriously considering a fiber rabbit until Sunday. I've considered it but never got this serious.
It is hot as I said. High 90s. Heat index at 97. Some schools closed early today. Not us. More heat tomorrow. Our first grade classes went to the zoo today. Ugh!
DS is buried in math homework all of a sudden. He's got a big book report due Friday that he is behind on. Hot, tired and overwhelmed with work. Not fair. I haven't got the energy to push him as hard as he needs right now.

That's really hot for you guys isn't it? Around here we're more used to it but it usually comes a bit later. We went from rain to HOT.

Is the fiber from one rabbit enough to do much with? I wouldn't know how much they produce.

It is about as hot as it ever gets here and way too early. BUT it does seem we have a heat wave almost every year before school lets out. Luckily it won't last. We'll be in the 80s Friday then down in the 70s over the weekend. With outdoor activities all weekend, I'm happy to hear that. We went from rain to hot too.
I'm not sure what the actual amount of fiber from an angora will be. My friend owns this rabbit's aunt. I think she clips 4 times a year? I'm not a spinner so I may be doing nothing more than selling her the fiber for now. I would like to try it. I've got a drop spindle her husband made me and I've played around with it a little. I guess I can always save the fiber until there's enough to work with. Or have it spun for me at the mill mixed with sheep's wool. Blended is the correct term I guess. Luckily I have KC to hold my hand through it all. I suspect she will be helping me clip real soon!
I was talking with another friend about names for Miss Bun. DH always refers to angora rabbits as fuzzy bedroom slippers. She is a "black" so I took all that and came up with Cinderella (get the slipper connection?) DS vetoed the idea. He thinks we should call her Mary. Our other rabbit is Martha. I guess that's what happens when you send your kid to a religion based school! :gig

Yup, everyone here is 'not dead' also. Moving a little slowly and cranky beyond belief. I was going to put some chicken on the grill. Forget it. Bacon, eggs and goat cheese with chopped veggies. I'm not even going to get fancy. I'm just gonna scramble up a mess and we'll eat it. Done.
