Thanks. I wanna go back. I don't wanna cook and clean all day. Maybe that's why I'm still here in my jammies playin' with pictures? :hu

Thanks! Funny thing is William Gillette, the actor who had it built and lived there, supposedly did not like to have it called a castle. Here is the website if anyone wants to see more. It's actually part of a state park now but if you scroll down to the bottom you can click on Friends of Gillette Castle and then Photos and see interior shots. There's no flash photography allowed inside so I didn't bother. http://www.ct.gov/dep/cwp/view.asp?A=2716&Q=325204

So DS is off to camp for a week tomorrow afternoon. I have to send all his food with him so I can know that he isn't getting anything he shouldn't. So 15 meals are in the freezer, plus snacks and beverages. They have pure apple juice "on tap" so he'll have access to that. I swear I've been cooking for 2 days straight. The packing is almost done. Then Monday DH leaves for a 2 week certification course for a class he'll be teaching next year. He'll come home for the weekend in between. I expect I'll be exhausted by then! Tuesday my mom and I are headed to the shore to get together with our former nextdoor neighbors from when I was growing up. I used to babysit for this girl and our moms got to be good friends. I started babysitting for her when she was 2 and I was 11. We haven't seen each other since I was in college.... yikes! I'm old!!!
I've been hand picking some kind of beetle off the cucumbers. They're spotted, not striped. Not sure if they're a variety of cucumber beetle or not. The shape seems rounder than the pictures I'm looking at. The plants are loaded with blossoms. I've got my fingers crossed for lots of picklers! Tomatoes are coming along too. Peppers-I don't know what to think. They grow so slowly! The greens are growing quicker all of a sudden. Rain, sun, rain, sun, seems to be a good combination for most things. Just not those darn peppers. Need to get new pics of ducklings. They aren't under mama quite so much now. They love their paint tray swimming pool. Mama Edna is acting like she'd like a break but I don't know how to let her out in the yard and keep the babies safe from the other big birds. :idunno

Wow! That is exactly why I don't go vacationing... the thought of trying to make all my own meals on the go... *shudders*

What are you planning on doing with everyone gone??

Monday morning DH will still be here and we'll probably sit and WATCH the parade since DS won't be in it and neither will DH for the first time in years.
Tuesday I'll be visiting the former neighbors.
Then I'll clean out DS's room!!! It may take a fork lift but it's my chance to really get into the corners and clean thoroughly.
I have plans to meet a friend for lunch another day. Other than the usual chores I hope to relax on the deck and read! Maybe knit.
I've got a dentist appointment Wednesday. And by Friday afternoon I'll be heading back to pick up DS.
The week will go quickly.
As for the meals, the only reason that it works is because they can store precooked things and heat them for me. Cub Scout resident camp is coming up in August and I haven't been able to get anyone to get back to me on how we're going to make that work! It's a first this year for us and both DS and I are going. I'm more than happy to bring the food. I just need to know that there's storage space and how will it be prepared, by someone on staff or am I going to have to do that.

Home for the next week:

Bye guys! See you on Friday! He started in a top bunk. We'll see if he finishes the week in one.

He's all moved in to Cabin C. He couldn't wait for us to leave. 7 or 8 other boys and 3 counselors. At least one of the boys has Asperger's, I'd bet my life on it. He was reading a story he'd written and was quite put out that anyone would want to have a conversation while he did. Uh, sorry little dude, I need to explain my son's food issues to your counselor!
DH leaves for training tomorrow afternoon. We're going to head to a party for a bit and hope the rain cooperates.

Back around the yard:

Anyone know what this is? It is on the underside of a cucumber leaf. It isn't moving and it's kind of stuck there.....
