Me too!
Almost as importantly, I received my salary agreement for next year, the closest thing I'll to get to the guarantee of a job. No increase because our budget hasn't passed yet but that happened last year then two weeks before Christmas we got our new agreements and retroactive pay.

Ugh, I've stalled. I was doing little bits and chunks and it started to make a difference but then the heat and humidity rose and I'm fried. Breaks are quicker and more numerous. I need a nap! Maybe that will recharge me. It may even involve turning on the a/c which I've avoided doing thus far today.
On the positive side I've collected a shoe box full of little toys DS doesn't play with anymore that will be great for trading in geocaches! :woot

Almost time to pick up the kiddo! I'll probably take him out to dinner on our way home. And by the time we're here or soon after DH should be home. He has to go back to his training Sunday night but we will have the weekend together. It has been strange having the house to "myself" for the week. It's sooooo quiet! It will be good to have them home. I got very little of what I had planned done. It was too hot. But I did make a start of it and will keep at it.
The sun is shining now. We finally had some rain this morning. I can hear the garden growing. The ducks have figured how to get in the fence but so far have only been rooting around under the straw and hay on the paths. We'll be working on that this weekend while DH is at home. Need to get it done before the tomatoes really start to ripen because they won't be able to resist those.
Guess I'd better get going!

Have fun picking up the little one!

It was actually a relief to have this rain, I think. Made it better for watering the grass/gardens and cooled things off a bit!

Yay! We're all here!! The rain was NOT fun to drive in. My parents had a real hard time getting home from Middletown. DH had a long ride too. DS and I scooted in just as the worst of it hit. The duckyard is flooded. The basement carpet is wet. Blech! But it's a beautiful day today. We're off to Mansfield Hollow for Family Boating Day in a bit. I hope. DH is on the phone with his mom and has been for over an hour.
DS had a great time and hasn't stopped talking except to sleep since I picked him up!

Too much to do but we'e determined to squeeze in some fun before DH heads back tomorrow evening. Looks like the weather is going to cooperate too. We enjoyed the boating day. It was put on by the CT DEP and No Child Left Inside. We took a canoe out and DS told us about all the fun he had canoeing last week at camp. We actually own but rarely take it out becasue DS never enjoyed it much. We're going to get him his own paddle and he's very excited about that. He needs a new PFD too because his old one is waaaaaay too small now. We came home and had lunch on the deck and have just been having a great time puttering around and making plans etc. We may or may not go to the fireworks tonight in Lebanon. I'm really not enjoying the idea of the crowd but I'll let the others decide. DH wants to take DS to see Cars 2 but I'd rather do the matinee tomorrow. In the meantime we need to clean the barn and mow the lawn and weed the veggie garden and reinforce fences (found Daisy wandering around the backyard this morning. So part of it has already been reinforced.... she popped a horizontal bar out and pulled the fence down and hopped over. We think.)
We got rid of a big nasty old arm chair that has been in the living room for years. It has served its purpose and I think I paid under $100 for it since it was a show room model. I'm loving the extra space and we have a really nice oak rocking chair to put in its place. We had tucked that away when DS was little and we worried about DS getting hurt on it. Off to Agway for shavings and chicken feed. Then the barn cleaning begins..... :p

Well, DH is off again. He's back in New Haven ready for another week of classes. He should be out lunch time on Friday but they've got a lot to get done. We had a fun weekend for the most part, catching up, canoeing, hanging out and getting stuff done around here. Felt good. We took DS to see Cars 2 today. I was gonna opt out but DS actually got really upset that we weren't all goign to go as a family so I went. And really enjoyed it! We all loved the first one too. DH is a big "car guy" and loved all the details. This one was no different. DS got a lot more of the plot than I expected and at one point grabbed my arm and said, "Mom, this SO exciting!!" He really loved the action and we saw it in 3D so it was pretty cool. He's never been interested in vintage cars before but at dinner he started asking DH all kinds of questions about his '57 Buick and what kinds of cars he used to own and could we go to a "cruise night" this summer and DH was just giddy with excitement over the idea!
Our activities for the next fews are going to depend on the weather. I think we've got another day or two of HOT and then maybe improvement for Wednesday and Thursday. So maybe some letterboxing and geocaching towards the end of the week. We discovered he needs a new life jacket so we can take our canoe out when DH gets back so maybe we'll look for one on one of those hot days. He's all fired up to do that as well. Apparently that was a favorite activity at camp last week. I'm not confident enough to take him out on my own and I really don't feel up to lugging the canoe around in our old truck without DH to come rescue me should I need rescuing.... So that will wait until next week!
A/C in both bedrooms means cleaning. DS wants to do some rearranging in his room. That I can handle if it's not beastly hot in there.

It's so hazy here I swear I can't see across the street! Blech. Critters are all fed. Guess I'll have to make my own coffee :( Shower first, although I'm not sure what the point is. DS isn't feeling very motivated which means I must get him OUT of the house! I think we'll find a quick letterbox or two then maybe head out to find that needed PFD.
Happy Monday!
oooo must remember to put trash out tonight.......

Abi and I were laughing yesterday about how us Coloradan's are all freaking over "all the humidity". It was 30% :gig

Now today it is 71% and I feel like I am trying to breathe soup. :th
