Yes, that and the brand new $43 million dormitory he's staying in. The shower head is about 5'8" off the floor (He's 6'3") and the water pressure is all but nonexistent. It's either scalding or freezing water, nothing in between. And the light over the sink in the bathroom area seems to work on a motion sensor but doesn't so he shaved in the dark. He's a happy camper this morning!! Not... The dorm is called Soundview and it probably did have a view of Long Island Sound before the dorm next door was begun. Now you have to look through the framework of that to see the water. Whatever!
I'm off to the shore for the day. Amazing how nerve wracking it can be to get together with someone you haven't seen for 20+ years while wearing a bathing suit. If only I could lose 30 lbs instantly.... sigh.

Great pictures from the parade! It sure was a lot different than ours! You can really tell the "country" vs "city" even though we're only a few miles a part. We don't usually have many political people walking in the parade (which I'm thankful for). They did last year and no one paid attention or really cared. IMO - this is a day to celebrate our independance, not be persuaded by big wigs who want to skeme you into voting for them while they pick your pockets clean....*can you tell I hate politics?*

Have fun on your few days of solitude! I'm sure your lost....and if so I have some *ahem* chores to keep you busy! ;)

Politics were way down at this year's parade compared to the past.
I've got plenty to do here, thank you very much!
DH has a brand new laptop delivered by his district's head of curriculum herself. With a case that's too small....
Had fun our visit, kept it short since they've just moved and it was all a bit overwhelming. They just moved into what used to be their summer residence permenantly so there was a LOT of STUFF. They didn't need us underfoot too long. We had lunch and relaxed on the beach most of the time.

Home from our visit. It was great but just a little weird. So much time has passed and life events have occured. Divorces and remarriages, step kids, etc. The beach was small, private and quiet. DH has his computer issues resolved. It wasn't perfect but they've got some techie guys who know their stuff and they seem to be having great fun helping DH who is pretty computer ignorant. Now our issue is that his mom just called to let us know that his uncle is in the hospital and not expected to make it for more than a few more days, if that. So he has to check with the instructor to see what he can do next week if there's a funeral to attend. He's only about 45 minutes from where his family lives so it may be a matter of him at least being able to get to calling hours one evening if they have them. His mother understands that he may not be able to take time away from his class but this is his father's older brother and his father is not always as understanding in these situations. :/

 Yup, living there would keep you from running to the store every day, huh?

Ugh, I can get nothing done in the heat. I sorted a few piles of stuff from DS's room that I had dragged into my room with the a/c but even doing that and bringing them back into his room was awful! It's a little less humid today and it's the only day all week that I don't have to be somewhere at some point. I have to get something done!
