You guys are all so lucky! None of my co-ops, TSCs, or anything carry much of anything as far as chickens go! ... My favorite Co-op type shops I've been to have to be the Orono Co-Op (The best as far as Equine stuffs!) and one I saw in Kingston called Country Depot..but both of those are 2 hours away

It's taken a long time for anything like this to reach us. Hopefully it will get to you soon too?

It's also a shame that staff at the both the TSC and Local co-op know not much about the animals they sell products for. Especially the TSC. I recently applied for a job at the TSC and am hoping they hire me because really, they need someone who actually has experience with animals rather than city slickers!

Our local co-op didn't even know what CD/T vaccine was!

Unfortunately I don't think that's unusual for a lot of those places.

Ugh!
I should really head to bed. I'm waiting for DH to get home from a band gig. He called around 11:30 to say it shouldn't be too much longer. I hate this! I've got a sick kiddo in bed. It's hot and humid and I can't sleep until I hear him pull in. Then he'll have to tell me all about it and I'll be asleep in an instant!!:p

HA! Sleep would have been nice. DH got home after 2am. Kiddo was burning with fever so I had not gotten to bed yet. DH ended up sleeping in his bed with him so he didn't get much sleep either. We were woken up by the dogs at 7:15 AND it was pouring and thundering. I went back to bed to catch a few more minutes of sleep and woke up at 10:01!!! Yikes! But now the sun is shining and it's humid as heck. :/
DS is a little better this morning but we're sticking to the BRAT diet which is annoying him to no end. I'm hoping to get a few things done around here, like sorting my clothes and catching up on laundry. We need to clean the coop but that will wait 'til later with hopes the temperature drops some. We are expecting more storms though. May have to wait.

Thanks FF. He's actually sleeping. Unheard of! It's only this hard on me because he's almost never sick. I mean really almost never! Has maybe one mild cold each year. One sinus infection when he was about 2. Strep throat once when he was 4. Chicken Pox when he was 1. No ear infections, rarely a tummy bug. Poor little guy is just worn out from this. I'm glad he's not vomiting but the diarrhea is no fun either. We've got his a/c unit on so he's comfortable. His fever has stayed under 100 all day without Tylenol so that's an improvement. He's drinking some water. No appetite which is probably just as well. He did eat most of a banana this morning. And to top it all off, he's worried he won't be well enough to go back to school on Wednesday. :/ If it goes on that long he'll be at the doctor's office but I'll be willing to bet he'll wake up feeling much better.

Ugh. DH just informed me that the new wet spot on the carpet in the basement is because of a crack in the pipe that takes waste water out of the bathroom. GROSS!! Guess what he'll be doing all day. At least it's cooler in the basement....

I'm going to sort laundry in my bedroom with the a/c on. Looks like I need to find cool things (and I don't mean trendy) to wear to school next week. This heat just doesn't seem to be breaking.

It's official! Back to work tomorrow. District wide meetings commence at 7:30 at the middle school. It's exciting but at the same time I feel let down this summer. The weather was awful. It never felt like summer. I had a lot on my list that never got done, but that isn't unusual. Anyway....
I'm as ready as I can be. I've got to put together my lunch, get clothes all ready, do any chores I can before bed, like freshening the outside water buckets for the birds. DS doesn't start until Wednesday so he and my mom will take care of the puppy during the day. Mom lets him out at lunch time on workdays. He's not eating well because he's teething. What fun! Trying to get him to eat dog food has been a challenge. He's not ill. He definitely has an appetite. It just hurts to chew so he doesn't want his regular food. But it seems to be easing up. Most of the baby teeth are out just the big ones coming in. We're being careful not spoil him by cooking or giving him a lot of canned. When he gets good and hungry he eats. We did hit upon one thing that helped him. I took his dry kibble and coated it with plain yogurt then froze it. Broken up into bite sized chunks it makes for a very happy puppy.
I'm off to finish making sure I'm ready for the morning. I'm almost looking forward to getting up early. I don't do it by nature but once I'm up I kind of enjoy the early morning. Kind of hard to explain why I don't just do it all the time. I try to get in the habit but it never sticks. :/
