I read your post about your son. I have a son too and while mine was always more of the shy quiet type many of his friends were not. It drives me crazy the way our system wants to take normal healthy active boys and turn them into conforming little girls. :barnie

They are BOYS for God sakes! Let them be BOYS! Let them run and jump and be loud and question authority...don't make them sit out for getting a little excited in a game of tag.

Our schools have things a bit confused if you ask me.
At my 7 yr olds school.....you are not allowed to run, play tag or pick up stick ...God forbid someone find a rock! :ep And they have assigned seating at lunch :he

Wow, look at me go! I just jumped right on your rant train :rant

:D It took me a long time to be ready for another golden after our first. Arlo was the first dog that was truly mine. Indy looks very different, which I'm glad about. It was almost 10 years before I could even think about it. I love the breed.
Yeah, boys are not allowed to be boys anymore at school. And then when they hug other boys they're all but branded (by the adults) as gay. Sheesh..... His teacher gets it at least. The para who gives him a hard time has one daughter. She doesn't get it in the least.

:D He's in the other room trying eat his brother, the pug. Adorable yes, and every bit a puppy! We have brought chickens and ducks to the Blessing before. This year we decided puppy was enough to try to handle. In the picture with DH Indy doesn't even have his feet on the ground. That's 62 lbs. of lap dog.
Other people brought dogs, there was one cat, the resident sheep, an angora bunny, a Highland cow, a BLRW rooster and my basket of pullet eggs to represent the new chickens. It was amazing how well they all got along.

Beautiful breezy fall day after a wet start. I haven't gotten much done although I did gather up a bunch of plastic tubs to store things in. I put away some cookbooks I rarely use. I got rid of a bunch too. I'm working on DH finding a place to store all his car books, you know pictures of classic cars that he'll either never own, or of the car he actually does own..... he's off gathering fire wood that he cut at school today. There 4 or so dead trees on the property so he got permission to cut them for the wood. He's got over 1.5 cords and the kid who helped him got as much. Gotta love free firewood! DS and I ran errands, got birthday gifts for the party tomorrow (twins... ) I treated myself to a new dish towel-whoo!
Back to decluttering. I'm going to win this time. I am!

I wish we had had a fall.

Today it is 38 degrees damp and windy.

I think winter has set in. What kind of wood were the trees?

We got about 2 cords of free wood last year. This year it looks like we are going to end up buying it all.

Hickory and poplar I think. I asked but I didn't listen to the answer very well. :p
I wish you had fall too. It's my favorite time of year.
