One of the trees we got for free last year was a Catalpa. I had never even heard of that kind of tree until we moved into this neighborhood. It burned rather well though.

We were planning on going to the lake again this year. The trees in the Ozarks are beautiful this time of the year ... usually. If it is freezing it will not be very much fun down there. We only have space heaters to keep warm and the cabin is a basement house. That is a lot of concrete to try and warm up with a space heater, plus it is always so damp with the wind blowing across the lake. Brr!

Frost tonight. Bringing in the house plants and figuring out where to put them so the puppy can't eat them should be interesting. Got rid of three big boxes of books. Will someone please tell my family to stop buying me cookbooks already???????

 My granny collects cookbooks............I bet she's got a thousand of them, in 2 different houses, no less. She likes the ones that have stories in them and everywhere she goes she buys one to take home. Problem is that if she REALLY likes it she'll go back and get one for me and one for my mom! :gig

Thanks! His first moment in snow ever. Of course he loves it. He licked it off the deck, ran like a nut in it, rolled in it....

It's very early for snow for us. It won't last and we'll be back in the 50s and 60s for a while. Kind of fun to get an early taste of it though!
Indy is now almost 7 months old and about 65 lbs. He's probably got another 20 lbs to go before he's full grown. That's about the size his father is anyway. I'm really looking forward to seeing him romp in some serious snow this winter!
