I'm a bit north of you, no snowflakes yet! Are you in the blizzard zone, near Long Island and Rhode Island?

No, further north than that. THough they do say we may have wind gusts to 35 mph later.
The snow just started within the last few minutes here. We're in the eastern part of the state but midway north/south.

It's always a bit exciting, isn't it? DH is working a double shift, he left at 2:30 this afternoon and is due home by 8:30 AM....I worry about that quite a bit. I actually hope he gets mandated to stay at work so he won't be driving in it until the roads are nicely cleared. He will be tired!

I love it as long as loved ones are home safe and sound!
We have one pilot friend whose flight home was canceled. He is stuck in San Juan at a bar on the beach. I love snow but......

Well, we're getting it, it started later than they said, around 11 pm, but it's been coming down like mad all night. We've got over a foot, and according to JC Monahan we've got the heaviest ban going over us right now, so we may end up with 18" or more. Greg has been out all night, from 12:30 on, he just called, he won't get out until 1 or 2 pm, so the COBRA will be paid for this month! :weee

He's plowing over in the next town. I live on a main road, so it usually pretty clear, but the plows have just started, I guess they figured on a Saturday night it wasn't worth worrying about it until Sunday morning. Churches are canceling their services. Looks like a great day to bak cookies - provided the electricity stays on! The winds aren't as bad as they were last night, and the snow is light; hopefully the electric lines won't have problems.

Kristin, how much did you get, and is it still snowing there?

I'm not sure we ever got bad winds. I never heard them anyway. We do have some drifting. We've got well over a foot without the drifts. It's still coming down but much lighter.
Our church never cancels. The priest lives close by and will drive his truck in even if he's the only one there. There are two families and one individual who can walk across the street or next door to get there and will probably come.
Our road has one narrow plowed strip down the middle and that is from before 7am. We're staying home. It will take a while to get the driveway cleared. At least it's light and fluffy and the snow blower can handle it.
I am headed out to get pictures of the kid and puppy. This is the puppy's first significant snow. He's in his glory out there! I may even post a video of it.

It must be because we're near the coast, but when it came in last night, it was howling, we had gusts over 25 mph. They're saying now it'll go on here past 2 pm, we're going to get about two feet at this rate. You're right about the light fluffy part, I'm going to get dressed soon and go out to fire up the Poulan, Greg has to be able to at least get into the top part of the driveway when he gets home.

A puppy in the snow - what fun! Definitely take video :)
