Took Henrietta to school where she was a big hit. Only one boy was afraid of her. My son held her and walked around the circle so each could pet her if they wanted. The little boy with Autism especially liked her. We are printing out some pictures of her for him.
Last Sunday we had Living Gift Market at church to raise money for Heifer Inc. One of my friends is the 3rd grade Sunday school teacher and her class was trying to raise money for chicks in other countries. I wasn't there (out of town) but I heard she brought one of her hens to church and everyone had a great time learning more about chickens.... pretty neat for an ag town. :D

The reaction of the kids was funny. We are hardly the only people in town with chickens but some had never seen one up close before. And yet another kid in the class has goats, several have horses...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh! I filled out an online application for a job yesterday and they've already called me for an interview! I go in Monday at 1 which is perfect because my son has school and the two schools I sub in don't. I'm nervous though. I haven't worked in this field in almost 20 years. I feel like I need to study everything I learned in 6.5 years.... by Monday!!!!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!
Going to do laundry and settle down. I need to tackle my son's clutter room. There's no room for new toys at Christmas. I decided that we should hav a tag sale Thanksgiving weekend on both Friday and Saturday. I called my mother to tell her this and she was in her garage cleaning! She jumped at the chance. I don't care if it's cold. We need to do this!

Cngratulations! Sounds like some yoga breathing is needed here! Good luck! ;)
Yoga class is tomorrow and I have to work. :/ But it definitely sounds better than cleaning my son's room!

Thats the way! Out with the old and in with the new. My boys room is so tragically out of control right now, Christmas is CANCELLED until further notice! Great idea on the sale! Too bad I live in the boonies, in a locked/private community and cant let people in?? I have to take my stuff to town, 14 miles away??
Nervous about an interview? Breaaaattttthhhhheeee in and Brrrreeeaaattttthhhheeeeee out! You can do it. Practice Practice Practice. How wonderful you got called so quickly! They must really be interested in you, so you've gotten past the hard part, you got the interview! Now you just need to let them know why you have the skills for the position you WANT! Good luck! You can do it!

I don't know if they're interested or desparate! We'll see. I hope it goes well. I have a sick dog who's vet bill was $250 today alone and we still don't know what's wrong with him. He vomitted some of his dinner last night then was up all night panting. Wouldn't eat this morning. He's a little stiff when he walks and very lethargic overall. The vet did x-rays but didn't see anything specific. We'll have lab results tomorrow and take it from there. He does see that Jack's intestines are being pushed downt so there's a chance there's a mass of some sort in there. I'm very worried. As far as we can tell he's between 11 and 12 years old. We got him through Aussie Rescue so we're not really all that sure. He'd had a rough time of it and was neglected so it was hard to tell.
Worked today and found out that a lot of us subs are being passed over for work because the principal has a couple of favorites. They're getting all the work. I am realling hoping that today is my last day in that school.
As for my son's room, I walked away after trying to get it cleaned up. My husband got a lot more done, at least so we can move around. It's the getting rid of stuff that's the problem. I think we need to start with the downstairs play area where there are still a lot of younger toys that my son no longer plays with. When those go we can reorganize down there and move stuff around and it will all work out. It may mean compromising and storing some stuff in the attic rather than selling it but I'm only putting things up there that would special enough that he'd want to save them for his kids one day. I also had to call my mother and say "ENOUGH!" EVerytime she has him she ends up getting him a little something or if he has to go to work at Sylvan with her she lets him earn one of their reward toys. Well, all that junk piles up. New rule, if she buys him somethign it stays at her house for him to play with there. She's seen his room. I think she gets it!

My dh is seeing the same thing in the para field at our local school district. There is one sub who has worked 5 days a week for the past month, all for different paras! My dh who has more seniority that this guy has only gotten 2 weeks of work, some days were partial days while the para had doctor appointments. Through the grapevine we found out he is related to someone on the school board. :thun It sure is frustrating!!
