Our cats just ignore the in the cage birds. We even put the cat in the bathtub with a wild mouse that we caught - the mouse actually hid under the cat. Un-attended for a couple of hours and still a very LIVE mouse. Same cat was a pretty good mouser outside.
Today I got two spray bottles, one for my ACV hair conditioner (which is lovely, I would totally recommend it) and one for a bleach solution. The bleach says 1/4 cup to a quart of water for disinfecting, does that sound right? I also got a spiffy funnel which has a removable filter. I stood in Kmart a long time looking at a Rival Crockpot. It's this one. http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_9990000025843111P?keyword=crockpot Any thoughts on slow cookers would be nice. I don't particularly trust a "smart pot", especially one in my low price range. Heard that they run too hot. I really want one that has a "warm" setting.
Punkin-some days I would gladly give you my cat. But not really, he's great. Well. He's basically a dog. He chews, bites, growls, digs and YOWLS (think barking). If someone comes up to the door, or shuts their car door, he poofs his tail up, growls, and finally hides. He sometimes makes me nervous by staring at nothing. His tail stays straight up unless something's really wrong. Two vets have marveled over that. He's the loudest brat cat I've ever been around other than a Siamese. He has to sleep next to my face.
This is the crock pot I own - the big oval version.
I really love it!
I even use it for things like making apple sauce and salsa. I just set the pot on high till things are bubbly then let it switch to "keep warm" With the addition of a screen top (like you use to stop greasy splash up on a frying pan. It allows my salsa to reduce to perfection overnight while I sleep. I usually use a crock pot liner bag (made by Renyolds Wrap people) to make clean up easy.
Never had a problem with the "too hot", but I usually prefer the "keep warm" or "low" settings for any all day cooking. I like the timer feature.
My granny buys chicken legs in bulk and boils them once a week for her chihuahua. She just picks the meat off the bones and gives her one a day with a little dry food mixed in. She cuts the meat up fine with scissors. Spoiled little doggie
Wow, today the mean people came to my work. For the first few hours we were open I contemplated throwing my hands up and walking out. It was like a Christmas rush. And the woman were words I can't even say. HORRIBLE. It made me want to take back all the nice things I said about my work. Impatient, unreasonable, stupid, rude. All my co-workers were marveling at how horrible people were being, not just me. It made it very clear that I cannot do another holiday season. Nope. What is it about the "season of giving" that turns people into #$@$#s? I will be gone from my current job by September. Yes, it starts to get bad then.
IMO it should be a requirement for everyone who shops, to also work a holiday season. Yes we are understaffed. Standing there sighing and complaining about "you'd THINK they'd be prepared for this. It's a SALE." isn't going to help anything. "Can't you get anyone else??" Did you not just hear me calling for help? Hello? Do you have ears? "Well I just don't have TIME to wait an HOUR for ONE yard of fabric." It's not going to be an hour, you cretin, and FINE, go away.
I'll reply to the nice comments above once I've had some strawberry icecream and feel better.
