Hee hee hee. I hope the icecream worked it's magic. :D

It is really weird, but I think in general when people feel they are being waited on by others, they just think the other people are below them, ya know? It is unbelievable. Entitlement Issues.

Add to that, I think in Western Washington people get rude and impatient when the weather gets warm. At least the drivers do!

Sorry if you have to work this weekend and all the mean weirdos come out of the woodwork!

I feel a little better now. Killed the ice cream, though. My shipment from amazon is confusing. Amazon says that it shipped on the 20th, and would arrive on the 22nd, today. Now if I put the tracking number in USPS, it says that the electronic shipping information was received today, and has no delivery estimate. *siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*

On the bright side, I got my gas bill, and it's $68! Last month it was $110!!

I'm making baked mac and cheese today! With white cheddar, pepperjack, and sour cream. Sounds weird, but turns out good.

Sounds delicious. Well maybe not as good as that Strawberry ice cream, but mac and cheese is right up there. great job cutting back on the gas bill. My electricity is the killer around here.

Well my record is over $200 in the dead of winter for my gas bill. I had turned on the gas fireplace. I'd never had one before, and had NO idea what it would do to my bill. I want my wood stove back so badly! And my energy bill this month is $32. So less than a hundred, total. No too shabby!

I got my amazon order today. Am 99% positive they made a mistake. I ordered this. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000DLB2FI/ref=ox_ya_os_product So that I can use my own coffee in my spiffy but expensive Keurig. Well, doesn't it look like you just get one? Well they sent a big box with SIX in it. I read the site over and over. I thought it was just ONE of what is pictured. Not six. Does it make me a horrible person that I'm not going to go to the trouble to send the extras back? I mean, that's $75 worth of them. ETA: Nevermind, I already emailed Amazon and told them what happened. I felt bad. :(

Oh, I tried my grinder today! It's awesome! Really quiet, too. And small. And the cord is retractable. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006IUX5/ref=ox_ya_os_product $13.19! Not bad at all. Next month I'm ordering one for herbs. (limit one amazon order per month.)

Anyway, had a much better day. People still were iffy, but generally more pleasant. Bellingham had their Ski to Sea Grand Parade today. Ski to Sea is this massive race that goes from skiing, to kayaking and all you can think of in between. It's about 90 miles long. These are the legs.

X-Country & Downhill Ski/Snowboard
Run
Bike
Canoe
Mt. Bike
Kayak

Crazy, right? It's been going on since 1911. I think 400 teams entered. Each leg is a different person. Bellingham really gets into this thing, and I'd never heard of it before I moved here. There's this massive party in Fairhaven after it's over. Anyway, people are usually not in my store during it all. Oh, and I have tomorrow off! Amazing! Yeah, it's less money, but I've dealt with less, so I'm happy.

Got my crockpot today! So out of the $6.00-ish chicken, I've eaten it roasted, in sandwiches, and it's going to be chicken and dumplings. I'll make chicken stock with the carcass. Oh, and Charlie is getting some raw.

I don't usually eat much chicken, I have some issues with seeing the whole chicken, and envisioning my adorable egg-giving hens. I know, I know, it's horribly hypocritical, but I'm working on it. I need to learn to separate pets from food. Ideally I want to find a good quality small farm source, but until then, I'll just make do. Also stretch them as far as I can, so I don't need to buy as much. Plus, I buy cat food made with chicken, so I need to just get over it.

I made a good iced latte for once! Brewed strong coffee with coffee ground with my new grinder. Added sugar and put in the freezer until cold. Then have lots of ice, some milk, and the coffee, and that's it. Somehow I usually mess this up, but not this time!

If you are making 100% use of the chicken then at least it did not die in vain.

Glad to see you being so resourceful with the meals! :thumbsup

Some days I think someone should come and turn off my internet. :barnie So I'm adding to my list of goals.

These are things I would like to eliminate (or reduce) from my diet.

Canola Oil / Rapeseed Oil

Cottonseed Oil

Soy (this one is just reduce, because it is in literally EVERYTHING)

MSG

High Fructose Corn Syrup (again, just reduce)

It will certainly be a challenge, and I'll again look totally insane reading in the isles, but I don't care. I also want to reduce how much plastic I heat in the microwave, like plastic Gladware, and such. I'm not being paranoid, I know I'm not going to drop dead suddenly or whatever. I just want to eat less genetically modified, artificial, and unhealthy things. I'm sure people here understand. Plus it's more self sufficient to make or grow my own food, and can you make canola oil at home? What about MSG? So anyway, it'll make me happy.

Hennypenny - You make me smile with your post. As serious as I know you are you are still funny. Love reading your post.

Good for you for being honest with Amazon. What did they say? Just nosy on my part.

I also love your coffee grinder. I have been thinking about one for herbs but just did not know which one to order. Since you like this one think I will give it a try. Do you dry your herbs first or grind first? I do a mix. Like today with my leaf celery. I chopped some for a summer salad and had to much so spread the rest out to dry.
