Isn't this a sign of the apocalypse? Well it IS a sign that the fires are way to close. I had to wait half an hour for the smoke to thin enough to get this

GREAT picture but scary about the fires! My brother is just north of Seattle, and my sister is just outside of Portland. She's been sending me pictures and updates, especially of the fires along the Columbia River gorge. How sad. And to imagine all those fires with so much water right there... @Hinotori, I hope you'll be alright!

We should be fine. It's just been so dry this year. Very unusual for the west side of the Cascades. The Gorge fire pisses me off. I hope they charge those idiot teens.

That's an amazing pic, but scary too. Glad you guys are safe over there Hinotori. I heard about the fires, but just in passing, I need to go hit some news sites.

I've traveled all over but it would be hard to find a place prettier than the Columbia River gorge (when it's not burning!)

We're fine so far. There are just too many fires so we are smoky. The rains are late starting this fall and we really need them.

Need for teenage boys not to be dumb, arrogant jerks as well. I hope they charge them for the Columbia River Gorge fire. Throwing fireworks off a cliff during one of our driest summers ever.

We aren't even supposed to be mowing right now. Too much risk of a spark. Well actually it's anything with a motor that can spark is only allowed between 8am and 1pm and you must have a charged hose nearby.

I have logs I want hubby to cut into firewood rounds, but it has to wait.
