Throwing fireworks off a cliff during one of our driest summers ever.
O.K. that was rather idiotic and irresponsible of them! I hope they punish them well for this, it may put some sense into them.

I wish I could send you some of our rain. We got drenched today and I hear there is more coming tonight. And someone on the outskirts of the village was setting off fireworks all evening. I couldn't see them, but I could hear the whistles and bangs.

The large fowl silkie project progresses. Weighed at 10 weeks and the obvious giant pullet weighed in at 21 ounces. A normal adult hen should be 32.

Pullet one left. Normal hen on right.

Hinotori, I would be one who would find no use at all for silkies, (or for little, yappy, so-called dogs) but I have to say that your pictures just might win me over eventually. I still wouldn't call them chickens, and can't think of a single practical reason to have one, but they sure can be cute!

The only practical reason to have them is they are such good broodies. They are the worst possible choice for free ranging. Even serama are a better choice.

I know a lot of people don't like them but enjoy the pictures. They don't need any of they can look occasionally.

I think another one of the plusses (is that a word?) is that they tend to stay where you put them. I've never had a silkie fly over a fence!
