Ice-school delay

we had sleet here night before last, which froze all over the roads by time to leave work. We're talking Georgia, where this hardly ever happens. I would have made it home in my good ol' Pontiac Aztec, but for the car that slid to my side of the road as I was going uphill. Had to back down, park on a side street, and walk the last mile and a half home.

Reminded me of my college days in Blacksburg, VA, where it seemed like we had ice everywhere half the winter. I commented to my sister it was a lot harder slipping and falling these 30 years later; she countered no, it's just as easy doing that, it's the getting back UP that's harder!

Well, it's official...the local 6pm news here announced that it has been the coldest December on record (at least for this part of NC)...so I'm not crazy, after all!
