We are having a downpour too - it's raining so hard I can barely make out the house across the street. Weird! Our 'lake' is re-forming in the yard :/

Oh, I'm sorry! You were so happy it was going away.

Yes, we tried raking the goat pen over the weekend, now it is awash. Also last week I leveled areas in the yard for paths and layed clover seed, it is all washing down the hill right now and becoming a slope again. I will have clover growing in the wild part of my property, not on the hillside. :he

Everything is so wet here and it worries me about the animals conditions. Goats feet are always wet, ducks always walking through slimy poo or damp straw, and the chicken run is disgusting right now, but I have no way of dealing with THIS much rain, they are stepping through pools. They just have to tough it out. I have standing water everyplace that is flat and it just keeps coming. I think our ground is pretty saturated. My chickens are molting too so they look really pitiful.

NO MORE RAIN. I'm doing an anti-rain dance right now for us.

SD, I wonder if that rain is heading my way???
It does seem to usually push that direction! I'm usually watching what is coming at us from the Pacific, but I can't imagine there could be any water LEFT in these clouds by the time they make it over my mountain. This is one of the hardest I've ever seen it rain here, for the longest. I have not seen it let up even all day.

HA! I just about to post something along the lines of 'what to do when it's finally nice out, but it's too dang wet to work in the ground?' My pathetic little tray of seeds is already done. I guess I could move the chicks out to the abandoned duck house - they are feathered out and stinking things up. So that will take all of 10 minutes.

I have to take child #2 to the orthodontist today. That makes 2 kids in braces at once :th Unfortunately, we have a genetic thing in the family that makes baby teeth have to be pulled, so we will have to see about that too. Both kids still have 12 baby teeth and they are ages 11 and 12. I feel so bad for them.

Dang...that is rough.

If they listen to any peice of advice, though, have them listen to my sister's advice: WEAR YOUR RETAINER.

She refused to wear her retainer after she got her braces off & regrets it every day of her life now.

Hubby and I both had braces so at least we know the drill. Drill is an unfortunate word to use here :p

Java, I worked 20 years in dentistry including two in orthodontia. If you have any dental stuff you need to discuss I'm on par. We had two that went through orthodontia. First was a smashing success, second wasn't so great. We had genetic issues too. Our kids got my upper jaw and hubby's lower jaw and they don't fit together right. I have a perfect bite but none of the three got it of course, they got Hubby's malocclusion. So I feel your pain.
