Thanks OFG. I decided on a replacement french press because that's what was cheap :D

My daughter cracked me up about the goats. She is so excited for the babies to come and asks every day how much longer it will be. So I told her 2 more weeks and she agreed with me and then said, "because the momma goats have to catch the babies first and they didn't catch them yet" I proceeded to correct her that the babies were still growing inside momma's tummy and they would come out soon. She got very angry and said "no, the milk is in their tummy!, not babies, they are gonna catch the baby goats" She has it all figured out I guess. Boy is she going to be surprised. She's very excited about having our own milk machines though so I wonder if she will want to share with the babies.

Aw, that is so cute.

My kids are so much older, I think all they are going to say is when ya gonna make cheese? They are teenage boys so food is never far from their minds!

Holy Moly! it's slippery out there! 1/4 inch of ice everywhere.
The poor ducks came racing out of their coop as usual and went skating across the yard. Boy were they surprised! They very carefully slid their way over to the straw under the eave of the house where it's kind of dry.
The goats did not know what to think, but did yell at me for the breakfast delay  - I had to skate out to the garage to get hay because DH forgot yesterday. I held on to the fence most of the way. About halfway there I thought maybe I should have taken my cell phone with me just in case I fell.

That was round one. Round 2 comes in tonight and I hope it's just rain, even though it's supposed to be alot of rain. I guess flooding is better than ice :hu Our yard will be flooded in the middle section.

My kids have hit the preteen years and eat all the time. My daughter just asked if she could have a sandwich. It's 9 AM!

Ugh - I have a limping duck. He slipped on the ice :/ I can't catch him though so he'll just have to find a comfy spot and chill out. And my daughter is mad because I won't let her walk over to the neighbor's. It's too dangerous right now. If she fell I don't think I'd be able to get her. I slipped on the way to the goat yard - and it's only 10 feet from the back porch! It's gonna be a long day...

Be careful out there, I opened one of the coops and the chickens all ran out and promptly fell down. I tried putting some straw down but they just slid around on the straw. My son was out helping me and he slipped and fell, but is young enough to think its funny.

I just started watching the news on Channel 10 and they are saying the ice will be worse tomorrow, plus 40mph winds and snow. Can we skip February and go straight to March?
