We are getting freezing rain again. I can hear it on the window now so it's coming down hard.
I attempted to get the mail, but got about 5 feet out onto the driveway and had to turn around. I couldn't stand up because it was wet and slick :p
Praying we don't lose power tonight. :fl

What could be so important in your mailbox!

Sit down my friend, before you hurt yourself! Take some more pictures for us out of the window!

We it through the night and still have power. It was scary. The rain was coming down hard and freezing on contact so the ice was building up fast. Around 10, I could hear the trees start to crack around the neighborhood. It was scary to hear the trees breaking. I saw one limb in our yard come down, but it's still dark so I don't know what else there might be. Our one tree near the house was so weighed down with ice that a huge limb was touching the roof - I'd have never even thought it was possible! Then every time the wind gusted, that limb would whip the house and shower ice all over. It was loud and I didn't sleep much.
No school again, of course. DH went to work because the roads really aren't bad and he parks in a garage.
I think some of the ice layer melted off because the temp rose during the night. The tree branches aren't hanging so low from what I can see now. That's good, but it's re-freezing now and starting to snow and the wind is picking up.

Now that it's light out, I can see that the neighbor had a huge oak tree split all over his house and yard :( That tree was in bad shape and should have been taken down. Doesn't look like his house was damaged at least.

Here's what the yard looks like this morning - all the ice build up on the trees shattered and fell off, leaving the yard looking like broken glass

And just for fun :D This is fat goat #1 on the goat TV. I am loving this barn camera! She has her head in the feeder as usual :p Yes, the camera does add 10 pounds. or babies

I love that you can watch your fatties on the tv. That goat cam is the best thing next to sliced bread.

Good to hear you didn't loose power. Stay warm and be safe!!

The ice looks pretty though. We didn't lose power either but I don't think we ended up with as much rain turning to ice. We mainly had the ice pellets. I got out there 3 different times and shoveled it which I'm glad I did now because everything was solid ice and it was only a thin layer of ice. So I got everything salted and we are good to go. Now we have blizzard like conditions here and windy as heck.

At least you can stay inside for the most part.
