I have always had bad luck with romas too!
Sorry you are having a blight problem.... Hopefully you will have a few survive.

I love a good BLT! One of my fave sammys is sour dough slathered with bacon grease on the outside, mayo on the inside, garden fresh maters and Swiss cheese... griddled til crisp. Your spread sounds really yummy though, I am going to have to try it!

Happy Friday :)

Sorry about your roma's... if you were close, I'd share some of mine. By the way, thank you for telling me (twice) about spraying my pepper plants with the epsom salts. Worked like a charm!

It just makes 'em grow  It's the magnesium and whatever other trace minerals involved. If your plants aren't doing well, give them a foliar spray of 1tb. epsom salt to a gallon of water.
So glad to hear it worked for you Framing! Woot!
Now if I could just figure out how to get the same heat in all the peppers - I have some with no heat and some that lite my hair on fire - from the same plant! Never know what you are going to get around here

I'm making a black raspberry pie and lasagna today. Of course I picked the hottest day of the year to turn the oven on.:p But I've been waiting for 2 weeks for these dishes and it's not getting any cooler.

The fair will be over tonight. Thank God. I can't take much more of hanging out in a barn with no air flow in this heat. The poor animals will be so happy to get home.
I put a for sale sign up for the ducks and got no responses :/ I really don't want to mess with craigslist, so I might just keep them all.
DH is not happy about the mud puddle I allowed them to create in the yard though. But it was so hot and they were having so much fun I couldn't help it. I'll fix the yard in the fall.

We did it. Put a deposit down on some goats today. They are a mother/daughter pair of mini LaManchas, to be bred before we bring them home once we are set up, or whenever we choose. I don't really want dead of winter babies, so we will figure it out later. One is brown, one is cream. Not as splashy as I wanted, but they are proven breeders and milkers and are very well mannered and quiet. There were over 60 goats at this farm, and the mini manchas were soooo quiet.
The breeder gave us so much good info and will be very helpful to us, and she totally sold my hubby who had some reservations. Most of her goats were in and out of their enclosures and they were so calm! They all looked very healthy and hardy. I was impressed. It took very little to convince us to take the wonderful opportunity she offered. She really likes to help people get their own herds started.
All right. I have alot of stuff to do in the next month or so. Mostly gathering supplies. I want to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.

I gotta head over to BYH and find that necessities list...seems liks there are so many things to worry about. My eyes glazed over just looking at the PBS animal health site.

I just found another site that has lots of info, and it's laid out in a way that makes sense to me - categorized. Very helpful.
