Hi Aly! :frow

Jared gets to go to the first person who sends me a deposit. Price negotiable for friends ;) :) He sure is a cutie. If he wasn't related to my gals I'd consider keeping him. He's spunky and super friendly already.

Glen, you crack me up  I'm going to think about you when for inspiration we do the disbudding. I'm not really nervous, but I want to get it over with.

Oh I hear ya on getting it over with. I started my first disbudding off with a tequila sunrise. Then off to the goat. Worked great - nothing like liquid courage.

The breeder I got the goats from is coming to visit today and to help me learn to disbud. At 4 days old, the little buckling has got to be done - his horns are growing too fast. I'm so glad she offered to teach us. And she's going to pick out one of the doelings for herself. She misses their mamas and would like to have a kid back. That makes me happy!

Looks like the does have at least a few days for me to gather my courage :D

I feel like somebody is beating me with a crazy stick right now. Is there a full moon? because the nutcases are coming out of the dark and swarming me. Not what I want to deal with. I just want to enjoy my life and not have to have my guard up :/

and this is weird - yesterday I saw a flock of robins. Must have been over a hundred of them. I have never seen that many robins in one place before. It was odd, but nice. Spring is nearly here.

Our breeder stopped in yesterday and she did the first disbudding. Which is good because the buckling was almost too far gone and she really had to burn him good. There was a little crying, but it wasn't bad. The girls weren't ready yet.

Fortunately, I feel physically GREAT! I'm sleeping, the aches and pains have taken a break and I feel like my autoimmune stuff just turned off - I woke up feeling healed Saturday morning. It's a nice break. I thought I would pay for the stress of kidding.

Maybe the adrenaline rush did you some good - and I bet all the stress may have helped your sleep since everything turned out well. You could sleep soundly knowing everyone was healthy.

I once worked for Walgreens as an assistant manager in a 24/7 store. I REFUSED to work 2nd or 3rd shifts on nights there was a full moon. Just refused. They could have fired me, I didn't care. I learned the hard way the crazies in that town came out in full force and headed straight for my store. Those were some of the most stressful and trying times of my work history - I'd call up Big G crying telling him he had to come to the store to check up on me because I was afraid of the people coming in and out. Did I over-react? Sure - that's why I got a pistol permit.

Thankfully I quit that job and got a nice, quiet desk job where I don't supervise anyone and don't have to share any job duties with anyone. It's great.

I agree with the full moon theory. I don't understand why....

But when I lived in Los Angeles, I worked as a dental assistant. I had a job for many years for a root canal specialist, and he was the only guy in town who put people to sleep for that procedure at that time. So the real kooks and crazies would get referred there along with all the nice plain ol' scared folks.

During the full moon, it really got too INTENSE! Combine people in pain with people who are scared and then the full moon on top of it and you have a recipe for some crazy folks.

I've heard the same thing from an ER nurse I used to know.

Wow guys - that's scary stuff! I'm so glad I'm not able to work outside the home. It's bad enough when it gets past my front door :/.

Ugh - I have to tackle the massive pile of miscellaneous papers that I let grow. And then start the taxes. Fun times :p
