Lovin' The Homestead
I have to go look for my shades and straw hat.
I am with you. although I can deal with MD, VA, or the Carolinas if need be.reinbeau said:If I have free time I prefer to spend it in my garden. I run around so much, my idea of a vacation is to just stay home and putter
We get away a lot, we go up to the house in Maine, we go north from there into the North Woods, lots of lovely water up there to enjoy, too.
I also have to say I'm no fan of swimming in the ocean, especially around here, it's wicked cold! If I am going to swim in salt water, I prefer the balmy waters of the Caribbean - so fat chance of that happening again anytime soon!
The problem is that even in the heat of summer the waters off the coast of Mass can be rather frigid. I used to go to Cape Cod every summer when I was married. The Sound wasnt' bad but the Atlantic was nippy.reinbeau said:I live six miles from the coast and I never go to the beach - well, a friend and I walk Duxbury beach occasionally, but I haven't been in the heat of the summer for years now.
I hear ya!reinbeau said:If I have free time I prefer to spend it in my garden. I run around so much, my idea of a vacation is to just stay home and putter

Down here in SoCal, the water only gets warm enough for me in mid August- Sept. but I am a wimp. The kids hit the water in June! Crazy kids....I keep an eye on the lifeguards board and don't venture in till the temp is over 70!reinbeau said:If I have free time I prefer to spend it in my garden. lol... we swim in the Bay of Fundy (Atlantic ocean) here, and the average water temperature during summer is 42F... it's only a few degrees colder in the winter because of the tides.Dace said:Down here in SoCal, the water only gets warm enough for me in mid August- Sept. but I am a wimp.
