Hey, it's a little selfish motive there, too  because at least one of those gals would have been travelling back to Ohio in my van!

I made a small animal carrier for the back of my pickup with a couple of cattle panels. I cut them to fit the truck bed with a section on the top and the back section made to swing open. Mine are fastened together with "quick links" like you use on chain. It is like a wire box with the bottom open to the truck bed.

After I got the box made and in the truck bed I strapped it down TIGHT with ratchet straps made for hauling things like motorcycles. Then I zip tied (and strapped) a tarp tight over the whole thing for the ride home.

I put an old rubber mat we had in the bottom of the truck bed for added slip resistance. Only took part of an afternoon to build with a pair of bolt cutters and it folds flat to store. Cheap too. I use it to haul sheep and my dogs sometimes.

Snot.

Do they have to be picked up today??? E has an appointment with his neurosurgeon this afternoon - and we cannot skip it. Tomorrow keljonma is coming down - and I cannot miss her....

Sigh.

I dunno if I could even afford the trip right now to Indiana! ack! but I want to!
