Usually rescues expect you to keep them until they are old and pass on. Not allowed to eat them and many don't allow breeding. But this one may be different.
Well, then nevermind. We can't afford to just feed a goat for the rest of it's life if we can't milk it or breed it.

I couldn't eat them.

Well, I just got an E Mail from the rescue. They dont have transport for the goats. I dont have a trailor either. So, looks like they will go into another rescue. UNLESS we can get a transport tomorrow. Im still working on it...but no one wants to donate time, gas, or a trailor.
I hired the neighbor girl to come over after school..and her and I put up the fencing for the goats. Its roughly 20 x 80...with a place in the barn that we will finish tomorrow. The inside will be about10 x 14. Even if we dont get the goats...I can use this space for my Ram..to keep the breeding under controll. Darnit. I was really looking forward to getting these 3 girls. :(

OMIGOSH! I love 'em!!

I want 'em!

What hoops do I gotta jump through to get them to Ohio??? *snicker*

Oh - are you allowed to use rescue goats as dairy/farm goats? or would the rescue make you spay/castrate your goaties???
This rescue is fairly leanient. She wants me to keep them...but I told her I will have to see what happens. But, for now...it may not matter. We dont have transport. DANG. Im sure breeding and milking is OK with them....they just want to see the goats go into a GOOD farm. The last female goat they placed...is on a farm, and expecting her little ones any time. So, im sure breeding is NOT an issue with them.

Yup - if you can get them lifted up in the back of a pickup with a lid, they are good to go!

Mione and Cissy came home in a wire dog crate in the back seat of the pick-up lol. We have a Supercab F-150 and they got to sit on the back seat :)
