Stay safe and warm.

A potato question. Did you add salt when canning? I have a bunch of canned potatoes but the recipe said add salt. I tried one jar and :sick.

Maybe I should try to make soup. That way the flavor will be thinned out.

Your potatoes look great!!!

50 lbs! :gig We're having a snow day here today too because of the ice storm. Last night I went to the grocery on the way home because DH had requested mini marshmallows. Everyone else in line had eggs, milk and bread in the cart and I had mini marshmallows and chocolate chips. They all looked at me like I was the crazy one!

Anyway, hope you stay safe and warm today!

Orange peels!! Is this going to hurt them? She said she was walking by, peeling an orange, and they ran to the fence "begging" for it. I told her I wasnt sure, and asked her to please dont feed them anything, untill she asks me! So, orange peels?? Think they will be ok?? So far they look fine.

:he How 'bout if I give your kids or animals something because they are begging for it lady? :smack

I think they should be fine since it wasn't very much. Maybe make sure they have baking soda and watch for bloat.

That little bit shouldn't hurt them.

I try not to feed mine peelings of commercial raised stuff because it's almost always sprayed, but a lot of my goat (& chicken!) feed is kitchen trimmings. They love broccoli leaves & zuchinni ends especially. Oh, and carrot scrapings mmmmm :D
