Let her know that one of my goats almost died because of well-meaning strangers feeding my six girls...but my queen bonked everyone and at it all (bread. Moldy.) You don't want her feeding them...it becomes fun and can end up tragic if she saves stuff up, like one of my neighbors did. And feeds it all at once when the grandkids are visiting and the stuff has gone bad. Sheesh.

But I wouldn't lose any sleep over an orange peel, even if one gal got it all. She should be just fine. Maybe SD should add some to her Purina that her goats are refusing... :p

Hi. I think your house is just lovely. So very different that what we have out here. I like it!

Hey, if my border collie can eat an 1 lb box of See's candy, and live to poop it, then hopefully the goats and survive an orange peel. (not that I know anything about goats...)

50 lbs! :gig We're having a snow day here today too because of the ice storm. Last night I went to the grocery on the way home because DH had requested mini marshmallows. Everyone else in line had eggs, milk and bread in the cart and I had mini marshmallows and chocolate chips. They all looked at me like I was the crazy one!

Anyway, hope you stay safe and warm today!
They were getting ready to have french toast! That's what I had for breakfast, but I didn't need to run out to the store to buy any of the ingredients.

And, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one w/a neighbor that feeds the goats. The neighbor behind me will feed my goats when I'm not around. :he They used to have a Rottweiler, which they let run free. I'd see it just sitting by the goat pen. It made me extremely nervous. But, since it wasn't in my yard, and the dog couldn't jump the fence, I decided not to say anything. The dog has died, and I don't miss it at all.

Thanks everyone. I feel better knowing that at least it wasn't "toxic" other than The chemicals that I am SURE was on the peels. I have asked her to not feed them unless she asks first. I dont want my pasture being the "dumping grounds" for unwanted food! We DO try to keep it prim and proper. :p I watched the goats today, all seem fine. Unfortunately they are standing at the fence, watching the neighbors house. :/
eta: Thanks Murphys. Its definately a "work in progress" LOL

Next time they ask if they can feed the goats just say "Sure! Hold on a minute and I will get your contract to sign that says you are financially responsible for any vet bills that are incurred and you can feed away!"

That should scare them off!

Wow, I'm lucky that my prissy neighbor's wife won't even come near my animals...now my other neighbor's kids...that's a different story.

Glad they're okay :D

OK, so I went out there this morning....and was walking around thier little pasture, and noticed pink in the snow. Im sure its blood...and there are several places....but I can not find which goat it is coming from. :/ I checked feet, all are ok. I checked bumms, all dry....could the orange peels make them have blood in thier urine? Like I said, I cant tell which one its coming from... Jeesh! We are getting flurries today, so it will cover the "old snow" and I will check later for new spots.
Oh how I wish we lived way out in the booneys!!
