I've gotten maybe two dozen blueberries off my one bush. I found out why. I've got a catbird stealing them. I do have the bush netted but it found the one little space it could get in and out. Grrrr!
Sorry about the house. Must be incredibly frustrating!

Wow, what a bummer. You must have been terribly dissappointed when you saw the chicken's living conditions!

I just adore my chickens, I can not imagine treating them so poorly. When we have little ones come over to visit and they want to 'chase' a chickens in order to pet it I get angry and tell them that these are our pets and we love them, we do not chase and scare them! Then we pick up one the the girls for them to pet.
But you are right, not everyone has the same affection for their flock.

Is there any way of building a nice big tractor set up at this house? Probably not really what you want though.

I know what you mean about the wild birds, H23! We used to put netting over the chain link fence. We zip-tied it to the fencing and it did a pretty good job of keeping everything away from the berries. I would love to have an acre just for blueberries, like our friend Barbara at PennLine!
LOL I'd love an acre period!!!
I'm going to have DH built a box frame with netting that fits right over the bush. That will work better than the current set up!
Hope something works out with the houses.
I actually had to laugh a little at the drinking water comment. My birds always have buckets and waterers full of fresh water and then they choose to drink out of a puddle! Silly things!

What those other people fail to realize is that a contented, well fed, well watered ... OK SPOILED chicken ... is usually a healthier chicken and lays more and BETTER eggs as well!

Just keep on spoiling those hennys!
