Wow........I sure hope you find a place for you AND your ladies. I just can't imagine having a chicken coop look like that. I know ours isn't perfect but I clean it with a kitty litter scoop every day and the poop goes into a wheel barrel until it is full enough to go to the compost pile with the rabbit poo and veggie scraps. Mine have a 10x10 covered run with roosting poles in it, always have fresh water and food and get the run of the property during the day. I hate having someone else watch the flock for the weekend cause it never looks right when I come home.

Recently some people up the road from us called on a couple of our friends to come get a rooster out of there yard. The rooster wasn't theirs and they didn't want a rooster on their property. Instead of waiting until dark and the roo was settled, our friends actually chased the roo for over 2 hours with some fishing nets! They went home without catching the roo, so the next morning the property owner shot it in the head and threw the carcass in the woods behind their place.
WHAT??? :th Why on earth......:he

Can you build a simple chicken tractor for your flock and keep them in the rental yard? They can be made dog and predator-proof with an electric wire....you could splice it right into the cow fence. Just a thought. You can make a hoop-house with two cattle panels from TSC as the frame. I've seen cool plans online. Not too expensive to build. Hens will be almost free-ranging....sort of!

Anyone ever transplanted a 4 year old grapevine before?
No I haven't. But I would tackle it like any other large transplant.

Cut the main vine back to about 1/3 of the usual bulk, dig deep and wide trying not to damage many roots, and keep things damp and it the original dirt if possible. Try to wrap the root ball in burlap or plant it in a BIG bucket or barrel.

I would also keep the cuttings! I have heard that they can be rooted (with some rooting hormone and care) and make new grape vines from the old grape! If this was a good grape it would be well worth trying to accomplish!

Good luck!

Don't worry God will be on His own schedule, but He ALWAYS comes through! :D

Kel - I know the daughters set up sounds awful - but if push comes to shove - could you maybe offer to clean up the area and have a small chicken tractor at her place. Maybe cleaning the chicken coop is something she just has not had time to do. Who knows in exchange for looking after her chickens and keeping the area clean she might let you have a seperate area.

Praying that something comes through for you soon.
