 funny, FD!

Woke to pouring buckets of rain. Forecast says we are getting rain almost all day. I'm wondering what the weather is like at QA's place. I'd rather drive down when it is nice and sunny.
We're having off and on rain showers....everything's drenched!

You're going to wait for a sunny day, and I got drenched making sure all the pens were in order for your arrival!

eta: Ernie said it's supposed to clear up and be nice this afternoon!

55 this morning, and should go up to 67. No rain and the sun is shining! :D But there is quite a breeze this morning - I am going to need a sweater for WOW at the lake. :p

Had a terrific visit yesterday with QA & E and family. She made a very yummy blackberry pie. :drool QA sent home a piece for dh, and I see he ate it for breakfast before work today.

QA has lots of adorable poultry babies, so I think she will be really busy at auction and in building more housing. :D

Lance, her Royal Palm tom, strutted his stuff around the place all day. :D

When we stopped at Becca's, I was blessed to meet her mom. Becca's garage is filled with cute little peepers. She did a great job on the hoop house too, which is now the home to her last batch of garage babies. :)

Sam was recently in lively discussion with Monroe, so not his usual talkative self, but he seems to be doing well otherwise.

The Ladies are looking fine, and I had a fun visit and chat with them.

I think The Ladies are somewhat intimidated by QA's waterfowl, as they are a pretty pushy bunch. When Sephira (sp?), a turkey hen, came into the pen, Betty Ford, a Buff Orp half her size, was giving Sephira the "what-for" raised hackles, angry eyes look.

After our visit with Becca and before I left, we did the night time head count. Yes, I even got to sing a couple times too! ;)

I got home at quarter past 11.

Thanks, QA! I had a fun visit!

Off to church... Have a great day!

That's an understatement!!! The waterfowl are gluttonous pigs and after devouring thier own food, feel they need to devour everyone else's as well! Becca gave me her waterfowl "feed recipe" so I'm going to switch up their feed and see if that changes their eating habits any

Betty doesn't like the turkeys, and she new that Sephira didn't belong in the pen with them!

Just as I was getting ready to leave the house for church this morning, the skies opened up and dropped buckets of rain. The sun was still out for a bit, but after a while it disappeared. So I ended up going to 11 am church service instead of the 9:30 am WOW on the lake service. The 5th Sunday of the month is Youth Sunday - and the Youth Pastor does the sermon, and the teens perform the music and skits. Great Praise Music today!

I bought an oven thermometer today to work on adjusting the oven temperature. I spent almost all day after church on it, and I still don't have it right. If I set the oven for 350, it is fine for the first 10 or 15 minutes, but after that, the temperature keeps going up, and by the end of 45 minutes, the temperature is at 500. So I will work on it some more tomorrow because I need to make bread.

We had Spanish Tortilla for dinner - potatoes, onions, garlic, red sweet peppers, tomatoes cooked until tender and scrambled eggs poured over that. Let cook on medium heat until the veggies are tender and put into a 450 oven for about 8 or 9 minutes until the eggs are puffy and cooked. We had it with salsa and sour cream. Yummy!

We never got warmer than 57 today and we are supposed to be at 47 tonight.

Becca generously gave me two cookbooks yesterday and there are a couple recipes I want to try out! ;)

I hope you get your oven temps worked out. I know how you must miss your homemade bread.

Thanks, punkin! I do miss baking - it is a stress reliever for me. DH is really tired of store bought bread - and can't believe how expensive it is for the good stuff that is equivalent to what we make. Also, I enjoy donating baked goods to the ministries at church...so it has been a sad month for that. There is another Christian Cafe coming up the first Tuesday of September, and I am hoping to be able to donate some dinner rolls and desserts..... :fl :D

Maybe you should be selling those pies of yours from home or at auction! Good homemade pies around here go for $10 minimum per pie. At a recent sale, I saw blackberry and elderberry pies (completely homemade without angels on top) sell for $15 each! ;)
