Take some time and just sit in the sun a while and rest. The extra vitamin D will do you some good! :) I hope you are feeling better really soon. :hugs

I am sorry you woke up not feeling your best. :(

Seems you still felt well enough to harrass me for pics of new chicks  :p

Ernie and I visited Becca's church this morning. I think we've finally found a place that he actually wants to attend! :ya :weee :celebrate

Good News! I hope Ernie really receives a blessing from the new church. We all need a place to belong where we can fellowship with other Christians. :ya

keljonma, I made your Bulgogi or Pulgogi tonight and it was delish!. I'm glad I made enough for tomorrow. It is supposed to get hotter and this way I won't have to turn the oven on again.
I served it with rice, grean beans and cucumber salad. I plan on stirfrying the leftovers tomorrow with some snow peas from the freezer.

Thank you all!. I *am* feeling much better this morning and I am sure that your concern and kind wishes helped. :hugs

Denise, When I asked him for it, the owner of the Burger Tex didnt want to give me his recipe. Then I explained how I was moving back to Ohio and wouldnt be able to stop at his place again, he gave it to me. :D We did not have the Bulgogi last night, since dh got home so late. We had peanut butter and banana sandwiches instead. We might have the Bulgogi tonight instead after dh gets home from work, but I havent decided yet.

I was supposed to pick dh up at Rons last night after Koinonia. I waited for the call to come get him - they said any time after 5 - but the call never came. Instead, Ron brought dh home about 7:30 pm. It was very kind of him. Our first visitor to our new abode, but I couldnt get him to stay for something to eat or drink. I could see he was exhausted and driving the extra mileage probably didnt help. I have never heard of a sleep over where anybody ever really got much sleep.

My sister L and her dh, D, are Koinonians, and were there at camp for a while yesterday afternoon. Rons wife, Pat, was also there. Some of the Koinonia team members are people we know from my time working at the private school.

Before the week-end, dh said he was done. He hadnt felt any new direction from God lately, and felt possibly that his purpose was accomplished. He was ready for the Kingdom to come. It wasn't that he wanted to die just yet, but that he felt he could go peacefully now, if it were Gods will. I told him at the time that I was praying God was going to give him the 90 to 100+ years that dhs mothers family usually lives. :)

Have you ever seen the glow that a person emits after a time blessed and filled with the Holy Spirit? Last night, I saw it shining from Ron and my dh as they pulled into the drive, and it was surely something to behold; very heart-warming! DH said he had a great week-end and came home with a renewed sense of purpose. Thank you, Lord! :bow DH also came home with his cold completely gone. :)

While dh was gone, our temps were down in the 40s at night. Last night it was much warmer, and not just because dh was home. ;) We were in the low 60s last night! :D This morning we are in the mid 60s, and it is raining, sometimes hard, sometimes just a light drizzle. A good day for staying inside and getting stuff done. :)

I havent really set up my home card file for this place yet. However, I have some moving cards that I have used for basically every move weve experienced. Since I have emptied every box in the small bedroom, I am ready to tackle one of the project cards. Todays project card is Family Pictures.

We have tons of family pictures (in frames). I have had one or two walls of family pictures in every place we have ever lived. I havent gotten any of the family hung up yet here, and I am sure that is one of the reasons it doesnt feel quite like home. The problem is that the only solid wall (besides the hallway or the one above the bed) is the one in the living room where the chair and dresser are situated. So I am having problems figuring out where to put the pictures.

If I had a new battery in the camera, I could post pics and let everyone help me with this decorating dilemma. Since I dont I will just have to wing it. Maybe I can give you an idea of the living room area this way. Just remember, this is not to scale. I also see it is too tiny to really be read clearly. :p

ourlivingroom.jpg

If you think of the top of the picture as North, this is what the room looks like:

On the North wall is a lamp, the chair and a half, a dresser, the hallway, and a rocker in front of window. In case you are wondering, the dresser is in the living room because it is too large to fit into either bedroom. It is really a chest of drawers (taller as opposed to wider) that holds our blankets and bed linens now.

The East wall is (next to the rocker) a table and Titans pillow bed. This area is a bump out from the main living room. The East wall is windows and there is a window on the wall south of Titans pillow bed.

The West wall is a wall of windows and the front door.

The South wall is the kitchen wall, step up into the kitchen and a bit more wall from the bump out area.

So it looks to me like I really am going to be moving the lamp, chair and dresser today to hang pictures. :p

I posted the following in PamsPride journal and thought I would add it here as well.

I heard that at a recent United Methodist Women's meeting, there was discussion about the Flat Rock Homes Quilt Auction on Sunday, October 5 at Wadsworth United Methodist Church. Quilt preview begins at 1:30, Tickets are $3. The church is at 195 Broad Street in Wadsworth, OH. The proceeds from the auction are going to the ministry to benefit children and adults with mental and developmental disabilities.

I haven't attended this particular auction before, but it is fun to go and see the quilts and get new ideas. I think it is even fun to bid, even if you don't win any to take home. :D

edited for typos..

I read some more of my library books instead of hanging pictures today. :p They are due tomorrow, so I wanted to finish up the two I was almost done with. I am renewing A Nation Of Farmers and Knit Together.

DH didn't want Bulgogi today. For dinner we had something we call Sausage Helper. I think I have posted a Sausage Helper recipe before. But it is always different, depending on the ingredients we have on hand. This is how we made it this time. The veggies I had on hand were mushrooms, green beans, broccoli florets, and grated carrots.

Sausage Helper
Brown 1 lb. bulk sage sausage with 1 onion and 2 cloves diced garlic.
Stir in 1 to 2 c veggies, cooking until thawed, if frozen is used.
Stir in 1 to 1 1/2 c water and about 1/2 c hamburger helper dry spice mix. Break up 4 servings of spaghetti noodles and stir into the rest of the ingredients in the skillet. Cook until noodles are done and water absorbed. Serve.

All we did tonight was go into town to buy water and to drop off the recycling. After we got home, we listened to some of Max Lucado's sermon on his new book, Fearless. http://www.maxlucado.com/

Tomorrow dh's new men's group is meeting at the Village Coffee Shop in Jefferson. So dh will go straight there after work tomorrow to save some traveling. He has about 45 minutes between work and the meeting, so I have given him a small shopping list - dog food, white vinegar, hydrogen peroxide.

Wednesday night we have our Back In The Box study. So I think I'll re-read that while dh is at his men's meeting tomorrow night.

Tomorrow I really do need to get those pictures hung. They are sitting on the marble table in the living room and it looks sloppy. :p

The spider plant I got from QA & E is doing real well and sprouting spiderlettes! :D

9/22/09 - Tuesday

Today I hung most of the family pictures; another card done! The rest got wrapped up again and put back into a box in the small bedroom. blah! I'm glad that is done.

The weather was in the mid 70s but grey and dreary. So I did housework, played on ss, did some craigslist searches, "went window shopping" online, did some job hunting, read some of my library books.

I made homemade tator tots and we had burgers with them for dinner. DHs mens meeting lasted about an hour, so he was starving when he got home, and was glad dinner was just about ready when he pulled in the drive.

DD sent us a link for a free food item from Schwans about two weeks ago. We ordered the natural casing old fashioned wieners. The guy came today while we were eating dinner. My dh, who is a founding member of ice cream eaters anonymous, also got a half gallon of Raspberry Ripple. :D

Tomorrow I have to do laundry and I want to can some peaches. We have class in the evening, so well probably eat the Bulgogi for dinner.

This Saturday our couples group from church (United Methodist Christian Fellowship) is going for a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley National Park Railroad. Cost is $15 for adults. We'll leave the church parking lot at 11:20 AM to catch the 12:45 train depot. We will travel to Akron & back, stopping at Peninsula or any other one stop to shop & eat and get back to the depot at 7 PM. There's a Yours Truly there where you can have supper if you haven't eaten in Peninsula (Winking Lizard--they're having their clam bake that day) or on the train (sandwiches.) Sounds like fun, and I think dh and I will join them, as he doesnt have to work that day.

That does sound like a fun and interesting trip. You and your DH deserve some R&R after your stressful move. I vote GO!!
