I'm coming to your house to learn to make rugs!
I'm in! :D Those sound interesting. Do you do strips and braid them? I've always wanted to do braided rugs. I have a bag of old blue jeans, but I thought about doing a quilt. My cousins young daughter did her first quilt out of blue jean squares, and it was really nice.
Sounds like fun! I haven't made one in years - that one was from some old wool blankets. I lost it along the way somewhere. Yes, strips and braid.

The quilt sounds like fun too! And warm! :D

Me three! Sounds very cool.

I am sorry about your drafty chilly house. I know what it is to not want to/ be able to make improvements...very annoying.

Glad that you seem to have kicked what every was trying to bring yu down (was that Thurs?) My little one has been sick (again) since being in the hospital last Sunday. I think she picked up a bug there. She started with a runny nose and now has a full blown respiratory illness.....coughing coughing coughing! In fact I am up this early because we have a football game this morning but I am leaving her home to sleep....she was up all night coughing .

I would love to learn more about that rug.......:p

Yesterday was sunny and in the low 50's here.

There were two funerals yesterday, both were church members. Only one had a meal at the church, the other was at someones home. I got to church about 10:15 and started the au gratin potatoes and cut the ham and wrapped it to go into the oven. Then I went through the food that had been donated, to check what was staying and what was going and moved everything not for the church luncheon aside. The family brought some potato salad and sliced roast turkey, but all the rest of the meal was donated by the women of the church.

Robin and Dee came to help set up the dining and serving tables, prepare the salads and other foods, cut the desserts. We also served coffee, tea and lemonade. There were 30 people for the lunch. Luncheon started at 12:30 and people started leaving about 1:30. Dee had to leave at 2, so Robin and I stayed to get everything cleaned up and the linens laundered. Thankfully, Tom stopped by to take the garbage out for us and to make sure the church was locked up. We were finished and left church about 4 pm. When I got outside I found the skies were overcast and we got rain later.

DH gets out of work at 3:30, and has been going to the hospital gym to work out afterwards. Since I wasnt expecting him home until 6 pm, I headed over to the laundry in Jtown to do our washing. I got done with that by 5 pm and went home.

I got home to find dh had left seven messages to call him because his car had broken down. :( His last message said he was heading to Brians (the auto repair guy who works on our cars) and would wait for me there. Or if his car broke down on the way to Brians, Id find him on Rte 11 between the hospital and Brians place.

I didnt get home until after 5:30, I first called the hospital first to see if he was still there. There was no answer in his department. So I headed to Brians, which is about an hour away from where we now live. DH was sitting there in his car. If my cell phone had worked properly, I could have gotten a message on it instead of at the house. Then I could have picked him up as soon as I got done with the funeral lunch. The hospital is 20 minutes from church and Brians is 15 minutes from church. DH called my cell phone, but my phone didn't list any missed calls. He had a bad day at work, didnt get to work out, and then his car broke down and he couldnt reach me. I was sad for him, but really just thankful he got to Brians safely. We had dinner and then he went to bed to read, while I cleaned the kitchen and dining room. I hope he has a better day today!

45 this morning when we got up. It is 50 now at 11:30 and the forecast high is 58. We have a predicted 60% chance of rain today and the wind is 20 mph. So far no rain, just very grey and overcast. Although the sun IS trying to make an appearance. :)

Since dh is working today, and we are down to one car, no church today. So I am drinking coffee and listening to Moody Radio on the computer.

I am thinking of making chocolate something today - Chocolate Polenta Cake or Turtle Brownies. I have the ingredients to make Stuffed Cabbage, but we just had Sauerkraut and Spaetzle the other day for dinner, so I need to think of something else for dinner. :/ Maybe Holiday Eggs.

I best get a move on...

Did I mention I planted Bright Lights Swiss Chard a couple weeks ago?

I left the plants outdoors, since I knew if we got any frost it would not hurt the chard. Anyway, the little seedlings got flooded out with all the rain.

Since we have already had two frosts, Im thinking it might be too late to start it outdoors again. Maybe I will try to grow some indoors..

Wow, you had frost already?!!! We have chilly mornings, but change into shorts and tanktops by 11 am.
I really need to get our wintergarden planted. This is such an incredibly busy time of year for us. We're harvesting, canning, watering, removing dead stuff, and planting. Whew! makes me tired just thinking about it all. Maybe I just better get back to bed
I love fall though. Looking forward to longer nights, time to cook and bake and do inside project.

Our high today is probably going to stay around 53, since that is the warmest it has gotten all day, FD.

We are definitely having Autumn in NE Ohio. :D

It's not quite noon here and it is almost 70 in our shaded breezeway. We're about an hour north of San Francisco, to give you an idea of wher I live. We basically just started our indian summer. Cool nights, hot days.
