Saturday - the temperature is actually as warm as 36 today and the sun is out!! :celebrate Which means our 10 inches of snow are starting to melt.

Temps are going back down to the teens this week. And a big Blizzard is in the forecast for Wednesday/Thursday. :/

TR is off this week-end. So we did our Christmas shopping. We are truly blessed that we don't really need anything. I got a large print life application study Bible and TR got an extra pair of work shoes.

We had our Experiencing God covenant group meeting this morning. I made sticky bun french toast and TR mad a peppermint pie. We had a great time, especially catching up with Ann who has missed the last 6 months because of health issues. I gave out cookbooks and small jars of honey to everyone except Dave and Ann. Dave's help when the bees swarmed was a true blessing, so they got a larger jar of honey than the rest of the group. :D Today I asked when Dave wanted his extractor back - and he said we could keep it!! :th What a blessing!!

We got our Baker Creek seeds catalogue in the mail Friday and TR has already been drooling over it. We are both already mentally done with winter - and it has just started!

My friend Terry needs some home health care assistance and has asked if I would be interested. The job is 14 hours a week - but she is moving further away and I am debating about the additional driving ... sometimes having just one car is the pits...... :p

Well, I better get a move on - I still haven't checked my email accounts and I have only 10 minutes left on this library computer.

Have fun!!

We got our Baker Creek Seed book today too. They have such nice pictures in there. Makes you want to get one of everything. I really want to be careful and get what we will eat though.

I'm hoping we don't it as bad as you guys. I don't think we will miss out on the winds though. I haven't seen the news today but last night they were predicting winds up to 50 MPH. Supposedly it was going to start raining tonight and then throughout the day on Sunday slowly change over to snow. Then Sunday through Wednesday get snow. But we will see. It is sounding more like a lake effect type thing than all over.

I hope it doesn't get as bad as they think.

Right about now, I don't need any pics to make me crave summer. The cold last week was enough to do that!

We got our Christmas tree after church on Sunday. A 6 footer for $20 at the local tree farm. The rain was turning into snow Sunday afternoon just as we were getting home.

As of today the snow is up to my knees here and it is still coming down! Titan and I have been hibernating, but TR has had to work.

TR spent 2 1/2 hours shoveling snow yesterday (while it was still coming down like mad  ) and only got the last 15 feet of the drive cleared.

Yesterday everything local was closed - including the library - because of the weather. My The Me I Want To Be Bible study has been cancelled the last 2 Mondays because of snow storms. We will have our class next Monday and then the last class will be the Monday after Christmas. Barb, our facilitator says we will try to get 3 weeks done in 2, God willing.

TR's Disciple Bible study was cancelled last night because of the snow storm. They won't meet again until January as the Disciple class always takes off for the holidays. The class always adopts a couple families from the HALO project.... TR's presents for the person he purchased for is still at home. So hopefully if I get the presents to church on Sunday it won't be too late to deliver....

The worst of the weather here are the winds - we have had temps down to 15 below zero already with the wind chill!

Tonight's high is supposed to be 3! Hard to believe winter isn't here officially until next week! This is what I get for living in the snow belt!

Needless to say, lots of comfort food being consumed at our place these days. We had a barley vegetable stew with jalapeno cornbread last night. I think pumpkin waffles tonight as soon as I leave the library.

STAY WARM! :D

Normally, we get 2 ft of snow for the whole winter, if that. Last year in this area, we got 3 storms of 2 ft each as well as some smaller storms. It was a record setting winter w/Philly getting 80" of snow. (I'm south of Philly. It takes me about 1/2 hour to get from my house to Philly) I'm hoping we don't get the same kind of weather this year! So far, all we've had is below normal temps, horrible winds and a few flurries.
