You should try sausage. Is yummy. Just cut all your meat off the bones and grind it into a burgur (my g-ma likes rabbit burgers) but then add a little pork fat (I buy it at the store) and make it as lean or fatty as you want. Add sage to taste. And you have rabbit sausage.

And the baked rabbit- I take and quarter the rabbits, and I get stove top type stuffing and make it and put it in a cake pan. Flower the quarters, and give a quick fry in a hot skillit, in butter or oil (Not till done but just kinda sear the outside) put the rabbit quaters on top. Cover with foil, and bake 300 degree till done. I also like to make gravy to pour on top when done cooking.

Yikes, yesterday was busy!

Had to run to town- @ 10 miles
Had to run toa town 45 miles north
Had to run to my moms- @ 20 miles
Plus verious stops.

Then I had made an appt to go look at some rabbits 100 miles south of us. But I did buy a standard rex sr buck and doe- proven and pedigreed! And their daughter, also pedigreed. Showable. So now I am the only person in @ 100 miles that has standard rex. As I got her only 2 does and the buck. (She had 6 bucks from their litter also). I am going to REALY have to travel if I want more! She has @ 100 mini rex that she took me in to see! Wow were their som pritty ones! If I can come up with the money I think I might go back and get some of the minis.

Put the rex doe with the male and in a month....we should have babies!

It rained all day. Couldn't do much. It was needed though. And the high was only 53 degrees. Crazy, I finaly put the a/c in and it goes from 94 to 53 for the high in 5 days.

It is crazy weather! On Monday, I was in shorts, last night I drug the down comforter back out and put it on the bed! No way was I gonna fire up the furnace, after just sweating my backside off 2 days before! Somebody needs to quit monkeying with the knobs on the weather machine!

For us, it's the rain. Last year from August until I'm not sure when it seemed like all it did was rain. Some crops didn't get harvested because of it. People were hurting for hay. Now, we're in the beginning stages of a drought. North Jersey is getting the rain, but not South Jersey. :hu Even the other night, there was a large system of thunderstorms moving in. For the most part, it broke up B4 it got to us. We got about 1/10 of an inch-if that.

Last year here, it rained, rained, rained all spring to where we had flooding on all the rivers- (we are where the mississippi and des moines rivers meet) till mid summer.nobody got a chance to cut hay till july. And that is normaly when we get 2nd cuttings. The alfalfa went to seed before it could be cut. And then the people from down south were taking what hay we had south so we went threw 14 farmers over 5mos this winter. It is a good thing that many of them were worried about a hard winter or our horses would have starved to death. As it was we had to resort to bags of alfalfa cubes a few times. That is why we didn't get a garden in last year- (many people here didn't) it was so soping wet last spring.

Then when it quit raining, IT QUIT!! And all the feilds dried up. The hay feilds turned brown and didn't grow. So very few people got more than 1 cutting here.
