Thanks. I was pritty excited to find them. I would love to find another doe or 2 or 3.:hide but I am going to have to do some traveling to find some more.

Hatching the last of the eggs in the 'bator. Then if I don't find anymore I guess I will shut it down. It will be quiet without chicks in the house. Not sure if that is a good thing or not. Lol.

The high here today was 66 mostly clowdy.

I was asked to take in another pit bull. Some people on the other side of town saw a van throw her out. She is limping on one leg but its not broken. She is very calm. Not sure I want another one. They turned in the discription of the van, but I doubt they find it. There are a lot of light colored chevy vans. I told them to call me before they take her to the pound, they are going to try to find her a home. I know what will happen to her if she goes to the pound... it is a kill shelter.

Went to the in-laws' today to see my father-in-law as he has been very sick lately but his mom won't realy tell us what is going on with him. And as we were going out the door, my husband overheard him ask my mom-in-law if they had food to eat today. Well the bells went off and we sent the kids to the car and went in the kitchen, and there was NOTHING. A few condements and spices. So we took the $100.00 we had left from dh paycheck and went to the store.

We are going to have to keep an eye on them I guess. Lack of food is not going to help him!

I don't know why they didn't let us know...they have in the past.

I am kinda worried now as they don't want to say much about why my father-in-law has been sick. Just that the dr is running tests. The shame is as I bought groceries, I counted meals and had 14 days of meals and some cheap lunchy type stuff and eggs and such for breakfast. And she was telling me that was enuff for over a month. And that some days they just arnt hungry.

I plan to check every week or two for now.

Been kinda busy here. Haven't had time to realy update, just quick check-ins.

*We got a fence up for the sheep and goats. Not their permanant place but it will do.
*We lost our little peaches. She was fine at night feeding and dead in the shelter in the morning.
*I moved bandit outside and cut him down to 1-1leater bottle every other day. He was up to almost a 2leater bottle of milk every morning. And still wouldn't eat hay or grain. He is FINALY drinking water! So I just been keeping a good eye on him.

We found 2 more standard rex does. They are 8 weeks old and are both broken chocolate. The girls named them dot and dash.
I am either going to eat or sell some of the older does that aren't producing well. I let dh make some changes to my rabbits this last year. And I don't like it! I am hardly gettting any babies. So the rest of this year I am going back to my old way!

I shut the incubator down. I don't have any eggs right now. If I get a chance I will do some more as I still have people asking for chicks. I had to put some chicken wire around the inside bottom of my chicken coop. (The coop itself is chain link dog kennel panels) and the smaller chicks were getting out and picked off. I found lots of feathers in the woods. And I know the dogs have been havind a fit along the woodline out there.

Almost done with spring cleaning. I tore the pantry apart cause it became a catch-all for everything! Took almost a week to do just that. I took a lot of the stuff we don't use and will make trip to the good will. Got all the blankets washed and put away for the summer.

The insurence company came out and looked at the house and since it needs painted, they added 225.00 to what we have to pay this year. WTF? :smack So we will pay then save up for paint. And you can't get just any paint for alum siding. At least that's what the local home store told us. So I am going to ask at menards next time we go there. And yet they didn't say anything about the missing shingles from the storm last fall. Hmmmmm?

The beagle X mini bull puppies will get their shots next week. They are starting to run around a little now. They are 4 1/2 weeks old.

Well I think that is about all for now.
Night all!

Can you fight that? I mean, that makes no sense. We had the insurance company come out when we weren't home, and tell us we had to do certain things in order to keep our policy, but they didn't add anything to the premium. The one thing was nuts and you could tell they weren't used to wood stoves. I had a whole pile of logs that someone had given me, just hadn't gotten it cut up and put away. By the time we got the letter, the pile was almost gone, but they wanted the pile of "branches" to be gone.

I'm not sure. Its stupid. Just cause it needs painted?......

REALY?????

And not a word about the roof...

They must live in one of those million dollar houses. And hire people to do everything for them. and everything is perfect.

Grrr. Just ticks me off.

Insurance people are usually pretty dense! I have noticed that they seem to wait until you are gone to check things out too! When we bought this place, the insurance guy came out (when we were gone  ). The company said we had to do a whole list of things to the house BEFORE they'd cover us - the two I remember were fix a broken window (OK, I could see that) and put up gutter ALL THE WAY AROUND the house. I called, pointed out that the house had three foot eaves all the way around it, they could kiss my backside if they thought I was putting up gutter! :somad I also told them that, if I should ever come home and find some strange man wandering around my house looking in my windows, I will be well within my rights if I shoot first and ask questions later ;) The guy who had come out refused to return ( to see if we made repairs), and the insurance company settled for us telling them when we fixed the broken window. :D Seems, these days, they look for any and every excuse to deny coverage/deny claims/jack up premiums :rant
