Well, I'm childless for the next 4 days. That is a good thing cause the shed comes tomorrow and we really need to work to get the other house cleaned out and ready to go on the market.

My poor son was back and forth over whether to go with granny and papa. Maddie was crying cause he said he didn't want to go with her and she gets lonely at granny's by herself. Tyler kept hugging me for dear life and screaming and crying "I'll miss you mommy", poor thing. I made him go though, everything was packed and loaded and I'm not gonna let him back out of it after all that trouble. He needs to do things without me....he's gotta learn that its okay. I hate it but I know it will be okay.

We have to go meet the guy and pay him for the shed today and then we'll go work at the house till we drop.

I had a buyer for some ducklings but she said she just couldn't pay $50 for 12 ducks. Do you think that's too much for 4 week old runners?

No, that is not too much for 12 ducks - as it only comes out to a little over $4 per duck. That's a good price for nice runners!!!

Thursday

Today the shed is coming! I'm so excited. I have someone coming to look at ducks this evening too and two more people that want to come this weekend. I'm hoping it works out and I can sell off the majority of these ducklings. I have one little 2 day old that has a bum leg but it seems to be getting stronger every day, definitely walking better this morning as opposed to yesterday so I'm hoping it will work itself out.

Got 3 loads of mulch and 1 trash can and 1 recycling bin and all the supplies to put up my clothesline yesterday. After the shed gets here and hubby gets home we'll tackle the clothesline and try to get it up this evening. :celebrate

I got up and started spreading mulch at 7:30 and got the back of the house done this morning. We want to try to find 2 pin oaks to plant in front of the house. We have lots of them around here so we may see if we can find two small ones somewhere on the property and transplant them.

Gonna be a busy day!

Well, the good news is that the shed is here and set. The bad news is that my husband had them put it up on 2 cinderblocks and now I need to build a deck with stairs to get in the thing.

There's a method to his madness though, he did it that way so that the lean tos that we are adding would be at the same pitch as the roof. We are just planning on storing tools, camping stuff, and special items like xmas decorations in the shed anyway. We're gonna run electric to it so that I can get my freezer in there too. The lawn care stuff is going under the lean to. On the other lean to will be gardening stuff since it faces the new garden space.

On the agenda for today.....mulch, mulch, and more mulch. We are going over to the other house to clean out the shed and move as much over as possible tonight so I have a half load of mulch hanging out in the trailer that needs to go somewhere

We got the poles built and set in concrete for the clothesline. For now I will have two t-posts 20 ft apart with 4 lines. If I need more later we can always go another 20 ft back and add another post with 4 more lines. I really think that is going to happen. Hubby did these kind of interestingly....he did a 4x4 center post and then sandwiched 2x4s on either side to make the T. Then for stability, he cut 2x4 pieces and nailed them inside the long 2x4s. It looks like a ladder. We set those in concrete and we'll add the eye bolts and lines tonight.

Oh, talked to DH's uncle yesterday and he told Chad not to pull up all the fence posts in the pasture! :celebrate I wanted to keep them and put electric on them anyway so I'm very happy about that. It just means that we have to finish fencing the pasture cause he said he would make us a deal on some of his cattle! We have enough acreage for 2-3 cows in the front pasture. We would have to build some sort of run-in shed for them cause there are no trees for shade right now.

I'm excited, exhausted, but excited.

The new clothesline!!! The weird poles on the bottom are coming off, they were just to hold it in place while the concrete set up.
The lines go on tonight!

Smart idea putting it up like that. It will make the lean-tos easier.
