My mom always used an ammonia solution during spring cleaning. It was just like a chlorine solution. Sorry can't give you the exact ratio, but I think it was like one glug to a bucket and then fill it with really warm or even up to as hot as you could stand and use a bristle brush to clean.

This works pretty well and no harsh ingredients, this is the ratio I use
1/2 cup vinegar to 1 gallon water.

I use Murphey's Oil Soap on my wood floors. I bet it would work on laminate as well. Murphey's is good stuff.

Murphey's is hard to beat on real wood, if it is a plastic laminate try the vinegar above it works a little better.

thanks, I've got both so I'll try them tomorrow when the kids are at VBS. My laminate is dark so you can see every little print and smudge on it

I HATE, HATE, HATE spray laminate floor cleaner. Leaves a sticky residue and smells terrible. (Sure does wipe of footprints though!).

I use vingar in warm water and it does the job nicely!

Well....gonna have to get a shock collar. Tonka left several "presents" in neighbor lady's yard so I took both kids over there after VBS and picked them up for her. She was very nice about it and she even gave us some tomatoes! I told her I would bring her some eggs and we could call it even.

Here's the bad thing....while I was standing in her front yard apologizing profusely and otherwise having a lovely conversation while holding a plastic grocery bag of poop, here comes Tonka. :th

He was on the front porch and I had tied the gate shut with his leash as a reinforcement for the latch. Yep, he broke the leash in two. I am soooooo gonna have to put him on a shock collar. I love him but this is ridiculous.

He's nine, he should know better by now. I know why he's doing it though, he wants to go lay in the creek to cool off. Gonna have to get another baby pool for the porch I guess. Maybe that would keep him here. Water and electricity......that's a good combo right?

Oh, and I officially hate hawks. I am down to one of the new ducklings and it was hoppy, my cripply duckling at the beginning. Guess he's not so cripply anymore huh? That little booger can RUN!

The hawk is small so it's not bothering any of the older ducklings....they are almost 6 weeks old now and partly feathered out. I haven't been able to catch him with the gun in hand yet but it's coming, I can feel a shootout at the ok corral a-brewing.

Hubby has gone to go pressure wash the old house and decks and bring the last load of stuff over. I am staying here with the kids doing laundry, trying to find a bread recipe that will appease everyone, and putting off mopping the floors. We have a birthday party to go to this evening so I have to get the kids to decorate some wrapping paper later on and I need to go to TSC.

Went shopping yesterday and got hubby 2 pairs of khakis for church, 3 pairs of jeans ($4 a pair!!!) and 2 pairs of shorts for me at Goodwill. I got the khakis at Old Navy but everything else was from goodwill. Hubby has a weird waist size....he's a 31. When he tried them on yesterday they were actually a little big....I think he could have worn a 29.

Oh, and my curtains that I ordered for the bedroom and the bathroom came yesterday so I got those ironed and put up. They look great! The ones in the bathroom will look much better when we get it painted but the primer and paint is at the old house cause we had to do the kids bedrooms with it.

I need to get some pep in my step and get this house on the market but we just can't seem to get motivated.

I'm trying to sell some stuff too but not getting much activity on it. Hubby is selling the jon boat and trailer, a cherry twin sleigh bed, lamps, a piece of artwork, an eliptical trainer that was given to us that is still in the box, and some other stuff. I just can't seem to get any bites. I also have not sold any of the runner ducklings but I think they will sell better once they are feathered out and a little bigger.

Well, I guess I'd better get moving.....

Okay, here's the list for today

*mop floors- check, twice. tried the murphy's oil soap and it left horrible streaks so I had to go back and mop everything again with plain old water. Next time I do the vinegar water instead.
*yell at dogs for running off.....AGAIN-- check, I have now moved a refrigerator in front of the gate on the porch. :tongue
*bake bread-- check, tried a different recipe this time and let the yeast bloom a bit before mixing everything else in the bread machine and it looks and smells yummy but still too hot to eat
*clean out Tyler's closet-- check, had a friend whose son has refused to wear anything with a print on it so she gave my all of his t-shirts, I have an entire bag of clothing to take to the secondhand store.
*finish laundry--- check, last load on the line almost dry
*get kids to clean up their rooms-- check, took some threatening but it's done
*get out gun to shoot chicken hawk-- check, think a 30.06 will do the trick???
*TSC trip-- not yet, putting it off cause of the daggone heat
*make wrapping paper-- about to do it now....if I can get the kids to stop fighting with each other
*change animals water-- do I have to??? in my best whiny voice

is it me or do the daily lists just seem to get longer.....
