My laundry is hanging outside also......great weather today isn't it....but sadly, I heard a front is coming,,,,,,rain, rain, rain.

YA HOO--WA HOO--Yippee on him being booked that at CC being finsihed....good deal!

I know the feeling when it gets paid off....nothing like it in the world honestly! Whew....

Yea my grandma would kill chickens, ducks, etc. for eating in my mom's family. heck most of the country did it as a normal food source, but my Mom, ask her to kill a chicken...NO WAY....ain't happening for her either..LOL

But if you are a Mom and have to feed the family, it sure puts one in a whole different situation......you did what you had to do to feed the family. My Mom was never in that position so I can see her saying NO WAY....HA HA

spring fever is in me also!

It's great to get the kids outside and get some "nature" on them.

I hung out three loads of laundry since we had sunshine and was pretty windy. Hard to hang sheets while they are whipping you in the face.

Super that you can get the card paid off. It does feel good.

Sunday

It figures I don't get on the computer for a couple of days and Pam has her baby...so happy for her though, even though she had to have a c-section, I know she wanted to go into labor on her own too. :(

Well, we went to look at houses again today and found one we really like but we still don't know what to do yet. Chad has had an offer from Verizon to move to West Virginia. His pay would almost double and they would buy our house and help us move. We have looked online a little bit today and we can get a 3000sq ft house for 210,000. If we were to even think of a 3000 sq ft house around here we'd pay double that. The only thing that we are thinking about is that if we were to go to west va we would not have any support system at all. New doctors, dentists, ob, pediatrician, vet, etc. We don't know anyone there. We'll make friends, but how long will it take and how will our kids be in the process? Chad may have to give up his business and it will be a lot of possible overtime at the new job so I may not have him around a lot. It's a lot to think about. If we stay here then we will be paying a higher mortgage on the same salary and I don't know if we will be able to swing it. I'm nervous...

What part of WVA? I'm not too far from WVA, and BeeKissed lives in WVa, so your SS friends would rally behind you if you felt that is where your family should go. :)

Moving is always scary. I remember when we moved to Tennessee. I was 19, newly married, and had never lived more than 15 minutes from my mom. The first year was the hardest! By the time my hubby decided he wanted to move back to Ohio, I was content where we were! But, I followed the head of my home, and now I'm content here, too. :)

Good luck! I'll keep you in my prayers. :)

Martinsburg, I think is one of the places he's considering. There are other cities too but he has to find out tomorrow at work. He works at Verizon and they are switching to fiber cables versus copper, I think. They are trying to redo all of their facilities and are begging for people to go to West Va. He can't get anywhere here.

He has been applying for a transfer to a different position for years, took all his tests and passed with flying colors. His problem is that he does all the work they want him to and doesn't ruffle any feathers or screw anything up. All the people that are getting reprimanded and don't want to work hard get everything. The union protects them and they milk it for all it's worth. They give the jobs that he wants (outside doing lineman work) to the people that have no experience and are lazy. We have a friend that works as a lineman and he tells us about some of the guys that he works with and it is just ridiculous. They refuse to climb poles. That's what a LINEMAN does, duh. Why are you working a job that you don't want to do? My husband wants to climb poles, wants to go down into holes and get dirty, wants to do the grunt work outside in the weather, but will they transfer him out of the warehouse...nooooooooo. He is technically a storekeeper. He manages the warehouses and where all the supplies go and makes sure that all his line crew have what they need. He gets reprimanded for helping people unroll cable. He's supposed to make someone wait for 3 hours until one of the contractors gets back and let him do it instead. So he gets reprimanded for helping someone get something done faster. How does that make sense?

I'll get down off my soapbox now..... :D sorry....

No no soap box away! I'll have to check and see how far that is from us, but it would be awesome to have SS'ers close enough that we might jump out of our hermit shells (in my case hermit shell LOL) and meet up! ;)

How exciting and scary about the possibility of moving. It helps me if I have a big decision to sit down and write out the pros and cons of the situation.

Seems like they would be hungry for someone who actually wants to do the grunt work. So many people want to kick back, prop their feet up and watch someone else.

Wow Lori that is hard. The moving part and double the salary part is fab...and the move itself, they buy the house etc. etc. It all sounds like a wonderful deal!

But you leave everything you love about your place. Isn't your parents like 2 hours away right now or something like that?

Hmmm...yes you do have a big decision to make and I know you are feeling the pressure.

Just chat with Chad and both you keep talking and eventually the right answer hits your mind. To go or not to go..LOL

hang in there!!!!

Well, we found out today that it is either Beckley or Hinton. We could actually live in western va if we wanted but the prices are better in west va. Here's the thing...if we were in Hinton or south of Hinton we would be the same distance from my family as we are now. :D

We talked to the bank today and they ran our credit report and we qualified for over 250000. We wouldn't go above 200000, lower if we can find it. The problem for us is finding the land that we want too. We have 3 acres now and we really don't want to go much below that if we can help it. We just can't afford a house with the room we want and the land we want in Powhatan. If we were to go west to western va or southern west va then we could totally swing it. The highest price we are looking at is 200000. If we could clear 30-40000 on our house now then we would be in good shape.

We are definitely considering it. I think it would be better to do it now since the kids haven't gone to school or anything yet. It would be a lot easier on them.

On a lighter note, we had snow this morning! I let the kids go out in pajamas for about 3 minutes to catch snowflakes on their tongues. They were really cute. Tomorrow it is supposed to be nasty...snow, sleet and freezing rain mixed. Yuck!
