Love the bags you made. Those are really nice. Sounds like you made out pretty good on the toys too.
My son always loved the creepy crawlies. I always hated them. Spiders were his thing. He was constantly bringing spiders in the house to keep as pets. Even after multiple and various spider bites he was never deterred. He probably still has some type of natural immunity to spider bites now that he is 34 and hates them.
Guineas roaming around in the house might be a little ummmm...... shall we say "NASTY". Maybe you should try something else first.
Every girl needs at least one pair of Puuhpul glasses. You should make her a matching bag.
Well, still raining and I am enjoying my last few hours of freedom. I got up early this morning and got busy. Here's what my morning looked like, can we say obsessed?
here are the tote bags, one is for mama for mother's day and the other is for granny
and here are the purses, they are both made from fat quarters and trimmed with ribbons
Tyler is bringing home his "enormous" lizard and he even brought it to church this morning. Apparantly the pastor announced to everyone what was in the box as he struggled to get to children's church this morning. Yes, I am childless again, Maddie decided to stay with Granny this week. I figured she would so I packed extra clothes just in case. Papa had a riding lawnmower that he wasn't using so he sent it home with Chad!!! Yippee! No more pushmower!
Looked up Tyler's lizard on the computer last night and I think he has a fence lizard and it is a female. Some people call them "blue bellies" but the females don't really have a lot of blue on them. I have to go today and get an aquarium for the thing. Isn't having boys fun?
I think I have a broody hen!!! She has been sitting in the nesting box since yesterday afternoon. The same one that hid all her eggs outside in the bushes. I wish I had left them alone but I don't think she was ready yet. She wasn't sitting on them. She would lay an egg and then go foraging and sleep in the coop. Now she is in the nesting box and I put 3 eggs under her last night when I saw what she was doing. She didn't object and she has at least 1 more under her. She was still there this morning and when i let everyone out of the run she stayed in the coop on the nest. I don't know whether or not to move her to a small coop by herself or leave her be.
I have another sewing class tonight at 6. Oh, and I got my federal tax return back! It was $600 more than we had anticipated! The credit card is definitely paid off now! I have to go put it in savings this morning until we get our next bill. So relieved. I feel like I can breathe now. I hate debt.
Every time I look at your journal this week I am kicking myself. I drove 90 miles to my home town this past weekend to deliver my granddaughters highchair and a bouncy/walker thingy. Pulled my sewing machine out of storage. (It still has the tag on it form 10 years ago when I had it serviced and never used it after I got it back). I forgot to load it in the truck. It is now sitting in my daughters living room floor.
Oh well, I haven't sewed in a million years so I guess a few more weeks won't kill me.
Made 2 more bags this morning and then went to check on the hens and Bertha was still sitting in the nesting box but when I checked on her she had her beak tucked under her feathers and I thought she was just sleeping. She opened her eyes and looked at me and went back to sleep. She still had plenty of water and food so I went about my day. Went down to check on her this evening and she was dead. I don't know what happened. She had been in the nesting box 3 days and I don't know if she was sick or what. She looked fine but she hadn't been eating or drinking. I don't know. I cleaned out the nesting box and threw away all the eggs she had been sitting on.
