Well, here is what I did today. The orange one is reversible and it is my first attempt at free motion quilting and I am pleased with the results.

Hi! I went back a few pages to see what you're using to quilt because I'm curious. It's not a long arm, is it? Everyone seems to have them, even though they're mega expensive, and I'm wondering if you have a normal machine, and if it's good.

Yes, I am using a regular machine to quilt. I just bought a Viking Sapphire 830 and I love it, only problem is that it is smarter than I am  I am constantly having to look at the manual to figure out how to get the stitches I want. I even let my husband try to free motion quilt on a practice piece of fabric and he was in awe! He thought it was so cool that you could go any direction you wanted. It was expensive, $1400, but I don't plan on buying another one for a LOOOOOOOOONG time and I was able to get it on a 12 month no interest plan and I had $500 to put down on it from xmas gift cards and money I had saved up. I talked it over with my husband and we decided that we could swing $100 a month and pay it off. It was a major decision and now that he sees me using it so much I don't feel so guilty about buying it. PLUS it has a 20 year bumper to bumper warranty and that's what sold me on it. I was in class Monday and a girl kept having tension problems with her machine and after fiddling with it the Viking dealer that was teaching the class GAVE HER A NEW MACHINE right in the middle of the class. You could have knocked me over with a feather, now that's service!

Wednesday

Rain, rain and more rain. Tyler has a play date this afternoon and we are going to the library. Last night DH went to his first EMT meeting and tonight they have him coming back to "practice" cleaning out the rigs. I laughed and asked him how it felt to be everybody's new b****!

BF is miserable right now, her daughter has been sick since Sunday and she cannot work, this morning she got up to get her ready for her doctor's appt and when her hubby got up he started throwing up. She called me this morning and said she didn't care anymore if it was raining she was throwing open all the windows and she didn't care if everything got wet! She is not a homebody, she makes me tired just watching her, so staying home all day taking care of sick people just makes her stir crazy. With all the rain she can't even go outside to get a little break and do a little yardwork or anything.

I am checking out a couple more Foxfire books today and I can't wait! They are sooooooo good. I was so excited to see Punkin's sewing projects too. I love seeing other people's stuff, it inspires me to copy it!!! :D

lori,
I've been thinking alot lately about a "real" sewing machine. I looked a little bit on ebay, but I like to see something like that in person.

My DH's Office Manager has one that sews, quilts, embroiders & a bit of everything, I think. I might ask her if I can see hers in action.

I'll do a bit of research on your brand, too.

Thursday

:weee THE SUN IS OUT!!!!!!

I woke up to a heavy downpour and thought, "oh no, not again." I went ahead and started the laundry and right after I put the second load in the dryer the sun came out and all the clouds are gone. I was able to put the next 2 loads on the line! Woo hoo!

Cleaned out some of my clothes and some of Tyler's clothes and put them together for the donation pile. Made some bread last night and half the loaf is gone already! This one was really good, I made the egg bread recipe that I always use but added some honey to the water and it came out so soft.

Made more laundry detergent this morning and we got everything loaded up for the dump/recycling bin, so DH will go get that done this evening. I am so happy that the rain has stopped! All my plants are looking good and everything is coming up. I am so glad I put the covers over the beds or they would be flooded.

Sunny again today, Tyler wanted to spend some of his birthday money and buy a "friend" for Izzie lizard so we went last night and he bought a Bahaman Anole and a book on Tree Frogs. He is very excited about Orangee the Anole. I don't know why his name is Orangee because the lizard doesn't have a lick of orange on him but that is the logic of a 4 yr old. We are going to Granny's for the weekend and I just got done packing. I made another purse this morning while Tyler was watching Bee Movie. Well, gotta go clean the hamster cage!
