Well, it's Thursday. I did lots of laundry today before the rains came, all these summer thunderstorms are driving me crazy.

Chad is out on a rescue squad call right now, thought I would get on the computer while I could!

Well, since the silver appleyards fell through I am thinking of placing an order for some Indian runners. Purely eggs and entertainment value. I also want to order some meat chickens but I am thinking of getting a dual purpose breed to replace some of my laying flock. I like jersey giants, black australorps, javas, barred rocks, and pretty much anything that lays non-white eggs and is pretty to look at :D

I just want to get some input so I put a post in another place. I don't want cornish x. Yuck.

I really want a goat. I'm thinking next year maybe. I just want to have some fresh milk and maybe get into soap making.

I made omelets for dinner tonight with fresh romas from the garden, fresh peppers from the garden, our own eggs, and freshly grated cheddar cheese. I also tossed in some slices of ham and onion with lots of pepper. SOOOOOOO good! The kids even cleaned their plates!

Oh I know....but I still want to get into it! It's everyone's fault on here, they keep posting all these cute pictures of their critters and whammo, animal envy begins........I've always wanted to try making my own soap though, just haven't gone there yet. It's like Aly saying she's gonna downsize her chicken flock......never gonna happen! I just keep getting different kinds of animals. First dogs and cats, then a hamster, then chickens, then frogs, then lizards, then rabbits, now gonna order ducks....the next logical step is some goats. My MIL keeps threatening to get my son a pig......ummmmmm no.

Sunday

Well, CHad had to teach a class yesterday so I decided to get the kids up and moving and painted all the coops red with white trim!!! As soon as the weather is better (pouring cats and dogs right now) I will take some pics and post them for ya'll to see. Chad was very suprised when he got home yesterday evening and I have to agree with him, it really does look good. I pulled weeds in the gravel driveway Friday for 2 hours and got all of them moved into the burn pile. 3 HUGE wagon loads full. It looks much better though. Today we are attempting to start potty training Maddie.....soooooooo sick of diapers.

I went to the bank and deposited all of the kids built up money.....$406 for Tyler and $345 for Maddie. We've been saving for a while and I rolled change for a half hour. It had birthday and xmas and easter gifts in it, that and every bit of change we find goes into their piggy banks. I probably had close to $100 in change. They have more money in their accounts than we do. But that's a good thing. They'll have money to buy their own car when they get old enough or go on a trip somewhere or put a down payment on a house! We've been trying to stress to them how important it is to save up your money so that you can buy the things you really need later on. We've been trying to do that too.

So true and never too early to start that lesson! :D When our ds wanted to buy his first like new car (it was barely used - under 10k miles), he had all the money except $2k. which I think covered the taxes, title, etc. So we lent him the money.

Monday

Today was crazy. I went for fasting bloodwork this morning but my appointment was at 10:20... :( By the time I got back home from doing everything it was noon. Sooooooooo hungry and beyond cranky. My children decided to show themselves in the grocery store and my son's incessant whining was only adding to it. Maddie only took a ten minute nap in the car today and refused to go to sleep at all when we got home. I tried to lay down and take a nap to no avail. I am so stressed out today, I tried to work some things out with my doctor and she really frustrated the h-e-double hockey sticks out of me. I have had ongoing problems for almost a decade and apparently all my doctors think I'm making it up.

I'm irritated with my husband currently cause he just got off of the computer and now wants me to get off so he can get back on. Grrrrrrrrr!

Tuesday

Well, I got up this morning and took the plunge. I ordered 10 runner ducks from Mcmurray. My husband is going to kill me :p I got chocolate, black and a couple of fawn & white. I'm gonna run outside now and take some pics of the newly painted coops and the new duck house and run. I'm sooooooo excited!!!
