We used traffic cones with the top narrow part cut off. They worked pretty well. We have also used a piece of metal conduit pipe between two braces. Then we put one foot on either side and zip tie them together so they hang upside down over the conduit. Grab the head and with a good sharp hunting knife slice the head completely off in one quick motion and let the blood drain. Messier but effective. Just slice and jump back.

Muscovies are pretty self sufficient from what I've heard. If they have ample food sources then I wouldn't go overboard on the feed.

Must go outside and do work! I've got a to-do list a mile long and everytime I start poking around SS or EG my list gets longer. Must go to work....must go to work...must go to work...... :th

Alright thanks. I keep a bowl of food for them in the little house and noticed them going to it today. So now I know it's not a furry critter eating it.

Went out today and did a little cleaning around the yard and put some rabbit poop soup in the garden.

I'm not sure what's going on with my body lately. My diet isn't the best, I sometimes eat junk all day (enriched flour products, refined sugars, processed crap, etc.). A few weeks ago I quit drinking coffee in the mornings because it was too expensive, however I broke down and bought some this week. I've been drinking two cups of coffee in the morn for the past couple days. When I wasn't drinking coffee I felt like I was eating constantly but I think it was healthier foods. Now with drinking coffee and skipping breakfast I tend to eat whatever's fast and easy for lunch, and way too much of it. The last couple days I've had acid reflux, feeling bloated, and I haven't gone #2. I've also been eating more yogurt due to the yeast infection I had. Maybe it's the dairy and not the coffee?? I dunno but I feel like I'm hungry, tired, bloated, and sluggish all the time these days.

Any advice would be much appreciated. I was reading the ACV thread and thinking about trying that to start. I have some but don't know if it has a shelf life.

I did go raw one time (plant based foods only) and that made me feel great but relapsed when I was pregnant. I've tried to go raw again but have found it to be much more difficult then last time.

It is more likely the processed stuff with white flour and sugar than either the coffee or the yogurt. Most likely. You might also try to eliminate grains for a couple of weeks and see if that is the culprit....either gluten or phytates.

The longer daylight hours next weekend should help us all with motivation!

Yep, I agree. Cut out the processed stuff. 2 cups of coffee in a day shouldn't do that much to make you feel yucky. You may want to try making some kombucha for the constipation. It really helped me when I started drinking it, that and eliminating the wheat but I'm intolerant. I can occasionally eat something small with wheat in it but it immediately makes me feel sleepy and sometimes gives me a headache. I really have to overload on it to have intestinal symptoms but I won't go there again, it was too painful.

If you can find some store bought kombucha then you can use it as a starter or I can send you some from mine with the scoby in it. Just let me know if it is something you want to try.

Normally, when I drink coffee, it's just the opposite for me. Rather than *not* being able to go #2, I have to go and like NOW. It's not pretty. :sick I know that eating large meals can contribute to acid reflux. Maybe eating smaller, more frequent meals would help?

I'm feeling really yucky today. When I woke I didn't feel so bad but after having one cup of coffee with milk and sugar I've got acid reflux and a headache. Maybe I should cut out the milk and sugar from my coffee and see if I can drink it that way. If not I will just have to cut the coffee out all together.

Ya'll think I should cut out grain, sugar, and flour?? Auuhhhggg, those are my favorites. :/ Expecially the sugar. It's terrible to say but I'm a sugar addict. I love, love sweets! I'll pick some extra fruit up from the store. :D

Kombucha? I have never heard of it until I started ready this forum. It's fermented tea right? Looks gross but I'll give it a try. I'll let you know if I can find it in the store.
