When we bought our house they left a bunch of stuff. really good stuff!

one thing was a stone grinder. It looks like a meat grinder sorta. It clamps on a table edge. It has an opening that you put the grain and a hand wheel about the size of a large platter. I have no idea how to use it or if I ever will. Does this ring a bell for any of ya'll?
Well, if you aren't interested in using it, I'll sure take it off your hands! I've been on the lookout for a non-electric mill.

ok, ya'll it's only been two days since I changed my diet and I've got a question.

I feel like crap! My body hurts, I got a headache yesterday evening and I feel like I just stretch enough. I'm sure that doesn't make any sense.

could it be my diet?

If you'd like, list everything you ate for the past two days, and a separate list of the things you usually ate but didn't. Oh, and drank. Be detailed.

Something is either missing, or more likely, your body is ridding itself of toxins. LOTS of water and LOTS of high fiber veggies....you need to pee a lot and poop 1-3 times per day to get rid of it all. More carrots! More rutabagas! More leafy greens...dark leafies, like kale, collards, beet greens, ets. Speaking of beets.....

K, yesterday
B: three boiled eggs
snack: peanuts and baby carrots
L: ham/turkey/sharp cheddar sandw w/mayo & green beans
D: scrambled eggs with onion, b pepper, butter and cheese
drank tons of crystal lite all day some tea and little coffee, peed all day.

today
B: cottage cheese and pineapple
S: chunk of cheese
L: boiled chicken
S: bunch of peanuts
D: shrimp with big o' salad
drank mostly iced tea (I think the crystal lite was giving me headaches) 1 diet soda and coffee

I know, I didn't have enough veggies, I'm trying.
I usually drink more diet soda and iced tea. I usually have some bread or potatoes with at least two meals a day.
No sugar in two days.

my muscles hurt and I haven't done anything. moved some pipe out in the yard, but nothing big.

Sounds like you are severely dehydrated. What you are feeling is not normal. If you continue to feel this bad or worse, stop your new diet and seek medical attention. When you want to restart the diet, work with a dietician. A sudden change in diet is very hard on the body. It can be potential dangerous if not done right. It should be done slowly.

Well, I don't think I'm dehydrated. I've been drinking iced tea all day. We have big glasses (probably 32oz +/-) and I've filled it up 3 or 4 times today. I never drink plain water.

A couple of huge red flags that I see....lots of toxins in the diet drinks and no plain water. Not anywhere near enough veggies to get the nutrients you need and the fiber to move stuff out of your body via the biggest detoxifier we have: the colon. You really want to poop a LOT. Yes, I know it is a touchy subject, but critical to good health. Especially for us omnivores. You really don't want meat sitting around for too many hours at almost 100 degrees....:sick It can become toxic.....actually, it is called autointoxication, if the colon is not working well. Your symptoms support this idea.

So I would recommend that you work all day tomorrow on getting as many LGI veggies into your body as you can....shoot for two pounds. Have your coffee, but just drink water the rest of the day. Go for about two quarts. You will also get some water in the veggies.

Your choices of veggies was good. Remember that standard salad veggies are lower in fiber, so don't eat JUST salad as your source of veggies....or get very creative with what you put into your salad. Green and yellow wax beans, snow peas, jicama, radishes, the kinds of cukes that you can leave the skins on, broccoli, etc.... the sky is the limit!

Add some plain live culture yogurt (or kefir if you make it yourself....I can't keep track of who does!) or some fermented veggies if you make them yourself. You can flavor the yogurt with fruit and stevia or some honey, but get some into you.

From what you listed, you are correct, you did not get anywhere near enough veggies to move things through your digestive tract. Sounds to me like you need to detoxify. Symptoms are mildly flu-like.

A good trick is to create veggie snack bags that are very colorful, with your favorites on the bottom of the bag so you have to eat your way to them. I use sandwich bags and put olives on the bottom. A stuffed ziploc is probably about six servings, half what you need for the day. Really, really stuffed. Pretty easy to do, then add cooked veggies for supper and a couple of servings in your breakfast omelette, and before you know it......You are poopin' and feeling great!

Don't give up yet!

Yes, but get to a store as soon as possible. You need variety. Go for as many colors as you can! Make some nice dip with full fat sour cream and some onion powder, garlic powder. salt and pepper! Yum!!

It is hard to type with my new dog, Biscuit, on my lap kissing my face!

eta: He is a whole wheat Biscuit! With grass-fed butter!!!
