Mum's been talking about finding Kitty a new home for a few months now, mostly because she can't go out with the other girls because she fights with them. I suppose this was the last straw and Kitty may have a new family tomorrow. The issue is that we can't put her out with the girls and we can't keep her in because she bolts out the front door all the time and you can never catch her. She needs a house with a fenced back yard and to be an only dog, both things we cannot provide her. There is someone coming to see her tomorrow and we're looking for more ducklings.

I feel a bit better about it, but it was just horrible. I see death all the time, I realize its a part of daily life here but this was different because I had given mum the go-ahead to take the pen out of the duckshed and to let them out probably 15 minutes earlier.

By the way, I have no idea how pioneers or anyone before hydro managed to EVER read by candlelight. Our power went out for about 3 hours and since my laptop battery went I decided to read Youth in Revolt to fill the gap. It was great until it started getting dark and I lit a candle but it didn't help AT ALL. No wonder more than half the population was illiterate.

In the end Kitty found a new home with a lovely family in Bancroft. Truth is, mum has been looking to get rid of Kitty for a while as she isn't on the breeding roster and we've been having troubles keeping her a) in the house and b) entertained since she cannot be put out with the other girls. She requires a special food that none of the other dogs will eat (infact, Quesa chokes on it lol) and then add the ducklings death on to of that and it was quitting time. At least she'll be happy in a one dog house.

Aside from that we just found 3 more Buff Ducks, we're picking them up Saturday near Ottawa. 2 adults (Drake/Duck) and a duckling. Mum is super thrilled so we'll have Buff Ducks again! Well aside from our two. It was all tragic and sad about the ducklings but we can't reverse it now so we may as well find some stand-ins.

I'm not in a fantastic mood today. Dad has still not received his cheque from one of his clients and it's going on 3 weeks overdue. Hopefully he gets it tomorrow. Our new windows for the bathroom are ready tomorrow and the wonderful guys from Eastern Design are coming to start work on the windows at 9am so I'll get photos of the progress for you guys!

My job woes continue. Today I was rejected as a potential interviewee by Cineplex at Yorkdale mall. How hard is it to find a simple part-time job slaving after customers these days? I think it is a simply a case of me not applying at the right time of the year. Jobs are being filled quickly and there are not so many available anymore. Disappointing and somewhat irksome for me so all I can do is continue to look and hand out resumes. What really irks me though is that I've now been rejected twice through AUTOMATIC EMAIL. Seriously? These people can't spare 5 minutes to actually WRITE an email or, god forbid, pick up a telephone? Hmmm.

And just for fun these are my scheduales for school. They aren't particularly full because I'm only taking 21 credits instead of the maximum 30 credits (I'm still a full course load though) as there wasn't there anything I was interested in taking that wouldn't interfere with my other classes. I can always take summer courses I suppose and I may transfer from York in the end anyway, but we'll see how the commute goes from Main/Danforth to Keele. So far I'm taking the Subway from Main to St. George (I think thats it... I haven't been a regular subway rider for years) and then north to Downsview getting the York U Rocket from Downsview. It takes just about an hour to get from home to the school that way.

And for giggles...

Accio and Fang spooning on my bed LOL. Accio has taken a liking to Fang, his mini-me and just after this was taken proceeded to clean Fang's ears.

And all three boys, hairy one is Cruickshanks, Fang and then the hulk is Accio.

And lastly, April let me pet her head today :)

Your cats are so cute :D

I had a buff duck for about a year. She was quite a character. Despite being raised in a big flock, she tamed down when she came to my place. Ate out of my hand and everything. The only reason I sold her is because she was REALLY loud and I am in a small suburban neighborhood.

Buffs are smart, bossy loud and cute. Gotta love em! :D

especially Acc and his mini-me.... thats how our Nicholas and Little Mo are. Nicholas is at least 17 lbs and Mo barely 8 but they are the best of buddies. Mo probably wont get any bigger so its funny they are such a two-some.

hang in there with the job thing. dont take the automatic thing personally - its the 'new' system there days. and hey - at least they didnt text you!

Accio is about 18lbs as well :) Fang is probably under 6lbs. Its funny because Accio normally hates other cats.

They are so cute! They're so peaceful when they're sleeping aren't they? Masks the mischieviousness they can get into when awake!

I never thought I would see or hear that Accio liked anyone else. That is great that he has a friend now!

Can't wait to see pictures of your new ducks. I really like the buff ducks.

Just thought I'd post a photo of the new ducks. I put them in the duck shed with the our remaining two last night and let them meet. They stayed in most of today so they got the idea that that is where they're living and let them out about half an hour ago to explore their new digs. They're staying close with our original ducks and the other ducks are showing them around! I took this photo as they were pigging out on chicken food lol. I'm going to have to get some flock feed or something like that as there are two drakes in the mix now but they seem happy :) Now the trick will be getting them into the duck coop tonight! They sort of fell off the ramp on the duck house but did spectacularly better than our ducks did their first time.
