oooooooooo aren't they pretty! Yeah, wish my babies would learn to use the ramp into the duck house so we wouldn't have to do the duck round-up every night....feel you on that one!

Out of my flock of 7, one adult and 1 baby "get" ramps. We are pretty sure the baby is the daughter of the smart adult duck.

We finally gave up and sunk our stock tank in the ground so they could all swim. Only Shelley we using the tank with ramp access and she wouldn't let her daughter in! LOL I think she is still miffed at me for making her share.

Yeah, my drakes are having a hard time sharing the pool with the babies....I had to put rocks in it so they could get in and out.

Haha our 3 original Buffs learned very quickly how to get up the ramp. These new guys are learning though I think. The first time they got further ON the ramp than the other ducks did (they just fell off immediately lmao), at least these 3 took a few steps before either falling off (the girl fell off) or jumping off (the boys). The new ducks just discovered today that the pool is also for swimming as well as drinking.

More duckie photos! ... Well photo.

This evening the girl learned how to get up the ramp! The boys still haven't figured it out but up she went with the other two girls. So proud!

This is the new 3

And for fun, this is our new goat pen thus far. The gate area, we already had the gate and we got the post this morning. The wire is attached to the post by twisting wire and its poultry stapled onto the goat shed (adding a piece of 2x4 for strength on the goat shed).

We'll have an electric gate at the top of our gate and electric wire along the top of the fence and 6" from the bottom as well.

And the remaining fence. The wire was free from a friend.

...And no that isn't a raccoon in the last photo, its Accio pooping LOL.

Here are some updated photos guys. I bet you were wondering what on earth I was going to do about the gap between the main fenceline and the picket fence weren't you? I went over a few ideas. First was rails, like a post and board fence. Next was pickets (mum's idea, and very feasible). Finally we settled on a stockade. I had some fence boards and 2x4s and an extra, 4ft PT post (was for a jump standard but I can't be bothered with that right now!). The 4ft post is really there for esthetics and for a place to put a solar fence topper.

Sorry about the quality, these were taken with my phone..

The stockade is 4ft high and we have electric going on the inside top and bottom. The pen isn't quite finished yet, a couple more days and it'll be done :) I just have to buy a new post pounder (ours has gone missing?) to put the tposts in and do some last minute removal of old posts from the old chicken run as well as clean up a bit and they can go in it.

It's not really SS but I had to tell someone! HMV, which is a major music retailer, called me this morning to see if I could come in for an interview next week. I'm a huge music fan, I love all things alternative and always have and one of my dream retail positions has always been at HMV but I've never been able to get an interview... until now!

Also, I lost like 6lbs haha

Ohhh yeah, and the ducks finally figured out how to use the ramp =] They take themselves to bed every night around 6pm and wait for us to close the door.

I bet that is nicer than having to chase them in (if that was what you were doing). What has been happening with the goats? Were you ever able to find them a new home?
