It stinks when you lose a) a good neighbor, and b) extra grazing space. We have been through that a couple of times. Lovin your thread.

Been a long time since I've been on had some computer problems and then got caught up in life. We had all but 2 goats freshen this year with a total baby count of 8. The last set was born Monday afternoon and are a lamancha/nubian cross. The will be going to Roger's market this week, as I just don't have the milk.
We have 2 bottle calves right now, plus the other baby goats we're giving milk to. My hope is to be able to trade one of the calves for some pork. If not oh well we'll just eat more beef.
Our chick hatching is running behind, but starting to come into full swing now. Most of the muscovies are down on nests and we're just waiting for them to hatch. We sent out 42 Silver Appleyard duck eggs a couple of weeks ago to hatch. (our incubator just isn't big enough.
It's been raining like the dickens and we can't even get near the garden. DH had to borrow the neighbors tractor to mow because the grass was getting so high. I really want it to stop raining so I can get out and start skirting fleeces. I've got people interested in them and I can't even set up the table to skirt and record them. :(

Thanks for the welcome back and the new welcome. I like the growing number of people in Eastern Ohio. Kinda makes me feel connected.
Hoping the rain does stop on Fri. I have to work at Rogers and really hate doing that in the rain. I live in Stark County by the way. Got your PM QA and sent a reply.

Just got done helping a couple of friends tattoo their goats. Now my hands are covered in green ink:barnie
DH has been outside working in the yard all day since the sun decided to peek out. I hope it stay out long enough to at least get the garden tilled. That would be really nice. A long shot though. Decided to go to spinning guild on Saturday instead of the goat show.
Gotta get to my yarns and start working on counting yards and getting them weighed. Now if only I could find what DH did with the scale that would be great.
