And occasionally a rice cake. with lots of water, water, water at all times...but I know what you mean about coffee-lol! I have to have that but I drink it black or just a little milk in it. the first week will be your toughest :barnie

YAY I've got a buddy!

Ok so the rice cakes, are those plain rice cakes? or the carmel quaker rice cakes??

OH man what is with me?! All I can think about is SUGAR! :barnie

I have no problems drinking water. Several years ago I made one change to my diet, before Baby 4, and that was I cut out all packaged drinks and only allowed myself coffee and water. I drank water CONSTANTLY. Just by that alone, I was dropping 3 pounds a week. I had not made any other changes to my diet or in my activity, much.

This time, I'm going to stick to it until I get to a size I'm happy with!

I need to get a scale. I will tell ya'll, I weigh 172# :hide I need a scale so I know if I'm dropping the #'s or not.....

Hi Quail,

I posted a thread on working out. Lets all motivate each other!

I used weight watchers about 5 years ago and lost 30 lbs. I wasn't too keen on using the "fat free" stuff that they recommended, but it got the job done. It wasn't easy. Excercise was the key for me.

Keljonma! 150 lbs :clap That is so encouraging!

Quail, I have a sweet tooth also so I have caramel rice cakes on hand for that or apple cinnamon. They go good with coffee. I use the plain rice cake when I am sooooo tempted to eat between meals and my stomach is complaining, lol!
I found my rice cakes at Family Dollar and Dollar Tree. My neighbor swears by plain popcorn when she needs a "fix" :drool
And dont focus on your scale because you will get disappointed-I used to run to mine everyday and learned to weight once a week only.
I bet we gets lots more on board with us!!! :thumbsup

Quail,

If you like lemon juice, try adding a bit of it to your water.

Little things add up to more exercise - park farther away from your destination and walk, do squats while you brush your teeth, stretch up and down on your tippy-toes while you are fixing supper and when walking back and forth to the animal tending, walk a little faster.

I don't reeeaaalllly have a weight problem, I have problem areas. Anything below my waist is kinda flabby. My problem isn't sweets, although I do like them sometimes, it's carbs. I can skip bread, but I do love chips and potatoes.

Good luck and keep us posted.

We are watching you now. :pop :D

Oh how I miss that gulf coast shrimp!!!!

On the weight watcher's diet, I did the "core" plan, shrimp and other shellfish were allowed. I went to town on it as a protein source.

I really liked that plan b/c if you only ate the food on the approved list, you could eat as much of it as you wanted. I ate (and still do) tons and tons of veggies and fruit. Carbs were limited to only whole wheat pasta and only one serving per day. Potatoes were also limited to one serving a day. But other than that, I never felt hungry because I ate all the time. I still have that list of foods available if you are interested. :)

Ladies, skip the rice cakes! They are a simple carb that gets rapidly converted to sugar in your blood stream, which prompts your insulin to kick in and clear out all that sugar, resulting in.....needing more sugar!

Eat a plum or an apple :)
