Good luck :) I loooove puppies!

Did you know that there is a Denver GRASP group that has family night at BeauJo's? Autistics only.

They also have a monthly movie night, only GRASP folk and they leave the lights up and the volume lower and let all the auties be obnoxious at the theater lol.

You really should look into it. Maybe the parents do kid swaps. I'll take 'em both this weekend and you take 'em both next?

If we got really used to each other, I'd watch him. I watch Max for Auntie sometimes. But I wouldn't without knowing him pretty well.

Did know about the movie night ... it's only certain theaters, right? We went to one about a year ago, and besides one other family, we had the theater to ourselves. Which was kinda good because my son wears earmuffs (sometimes) when we go to the theater because it's so loud.

Didn't know that about BeauJo's ...we do like there pizza. Should find out if there's one near us. (Yeah, right).

Hadn't heard of GRASP per se, tho. Will look into it.

*nods* It's a good group for networking. Their support group (all auties on an email list) drives me nuts most of the time because autistics are just so ARGH. lol. But otherwise it's good.

What the hell was I thinking ... moving out to the country? With mice, spiders and now snakes?!?!
:he

Was just out feeding the goats and chickens. Happened to notice a stray piece of styrofoam by the house. Must have blown over via wind, which we have a LOT of. Picked it up to put in trash, and dropped it in a hurry. Lying underneath it was a snake! I screamed. Jumped back. Screamed again and yelled for my kid to come here. It was mostly black with yellow stripes. Not big, width-wise. But about a foot and a half long. Skinny. It slithered away, under my garage! NO!!!!!

Son finally came out. Too late to see that thing but still, told him from now on, he wears his boots. I will too.

Guess that's why I found yolk all over some eggs in one of my chicken pens. And guess that's why I'm not getting a huge amount of eggs.

So, besides terrified, I'm pissed.

How am I ever gonna feel relaxed again? It WENT UNDER MY GARAGE! THAT'S ATTACHED TO MY HOUSE! What if it gets IN my house?

Unbe-freaking-lievable!

Informative article, thanks Abi. I googled pictures of colorado snakes. I think it was a garter snake. I know, not poisonous but still... I'm really creeped out and freaking.

I hate snakes. Hate 'em. And we have garter snakes all over too. Even found a shed skin in the basement. Just keep telling yourself they eat rodents. I hate rodents more than I hate snakes. Well, kind of , in a different way.

I'm telling myself that but it's not helping. Every time a fly lands on me, I jump, thinking (irrationally, I know) that it's a snake! Afraid to go back outside.

Just e-mailed Hubby ... mowing, trimming and cleaning up this weekend. No matter what. He agrees.

Wonder ... do chickens attack snakes?

Probably if given the chance. But I think the snake could go after chicks or ducklings if you've got any. Not sure though.
