Don't forget the finger sucking  Mine are sleeping alot, but I catch them awake and get to play with them sometimes. I love little goat kids though! They're the bestest!

Boy howdy ... life can get complicated and oh so busy! The triplets born on Dec 5 are growing rapidly and already have horn-lets! Very used to the collar and will start leash-training soon if we don't sell them first. They still sleep in the garage but every morning I "herd" them to the outdoor girl pen and bring them back inside at dusk.

The other doe had her the day after Christmas. She had twins, one boy and one girl. Both are mostly black with a few patches of of white. Super healthy and very sweet.

Posted a notice in the community mail room asking for Christmas trees. Have had an overwhelming response: 8 trees as of today! Wow! One in the boy pen, one in the girl pen, and bits in the inside girls pens. The babies love them, even the youngest.

We decided to change from nigerian dwarf goats because my hands really hurt milking them. The nipples/teats are so small! I handled it last summer, but with the increase of my skin problem and my hands getting worse, muscle-wise, I just can't do it this time. So we're selling the girls and all 5 babies, and gonna get 2 SMALL nubian does, in milk. Anybody in the Denver area interested in perhaps a trade?

I'll post pix of the babies and does when I can get to it.

Meanwhile, we're getting a lot of progress done on our little 2 acre farmette. The dog run is completely finished, and the puppy already uses his tiny poop-spot exclusively. I also fenced in a small area there for potted tomatoes. We're almost done with the backyard raised-bed vegetable garden, except we still need to build some more boxes/beds. Then we'll fence off the flower/herb garden and make 4x4 boxes for there. Already outlined on the ground the new buck pen (3 x larger than where they are now!).

Major progress. All while being sick, getting the kid back in the school habit, working on my writing, and planning things.

So tired.

Hope my energy picks up soon.

Good idea. I take my vitamins for a while then forget. Will get back on them and add Vit D.

Leg smeg. Does fine until I get out there and do some work, then I can't move for 24 hours or so. Too much to be done. Hubby's insurance changed the first of the year so when I meet with the new doc for an overall thing this week, will discuss and see if I can get some other input. Kinda gotten used to not being able to walk. That's sad, isn't it!?!

Have you tried wearing a leg brace? That's what I do when it really hurts.

be sure it is Vitamin D3, that is the form that our bodies can use the most of. Its not as good as sunshine, but its better than nothing for sure.
Feel better soon!!

I'm so busy I can barely breathe. Dont' have long to type so I'll give the highlights:
-HUGE veggie garden bed almost done. All its raised beds done. Need to fill and add gates to keep chickens out.
-Bantam chicken's new home done. Moved in today. Still need to finish their run.
-Hubby and I decided to adopt 2 kids. Start process in Spring. Meanwhile, I have a HUGE house to organize, clean and decorate.
-Student going to park RV on our property for free in exchange for helping with work.
-Studded out our buck which gave us a few extra dollars.
-Planning our veggie garden, our flower/herb/apothecary garden, and how many fruit and nut trees and bushes to plant.

Whew! I know there's a LOT more but that's just the highlights. Gotta go put the chickens up and get the goat babies inside before too dark.

Oh great, a hot flash now?!?!?!?

Just make sure you get something in writing w/the student! It can work, or it can be a disaster. How's your leg?

Already drew up the contract. E-mailed a draft. Will make sure she signs before parks for even the first night. Doing a week trial basis, then a month-by-month renewal.

Leg gets better when I'm not working outside, up and down our hills, putting things together. Like yesterday when I got the new bantam area done. Boy howdy my leg hurt last night. Still does. But today, I'm sitting most of the day: once I get the goats out to their outdoor pen, open up the chicken housing and feed them, I'm planning on sitting on my bed all day, leg up, working on the computer. Gotta finish planning my apothecary garden, merge that with my veggie garden plan, and order seeds.

Can't wear a brace because it puts pressure on the parts where it can make things worse.

Thank you for asking. How are you?
