Yep! He has people who want him to process birds and he basically said well, when I do mine you bring the propane and we'll do yours too if you help with mine. Only firing up once this year we hope!

Our hope is to have everything major done before winter so we can actually relax on the days he's off and get ready for the new human! I'm looking forward to relaxing, looking at seed catalogues, setting up the crib... We'll get there...

Yeah, not too bad huh? DH is working today amd DD has toys spread out everywhere and I've been planning and plotting, lol. DH gets stressed out but it makes me feel less anxious to write to do lists and plan out things... I can accept when plans change but I feel better having it all written down.

DH has been very patiently holding off on one of his farming passions, so I'm trying to make it a reality for him next year. Especially since it's zero work for me and minimal for him... I want to get bees again!

Oh cool! DH makes noises about bees....but nah. I would end up taking that over too and it's not something I'm interested in or want to deal with. I buy local honey from my feed store. I don't mind supporting my local bee farmer one bit!!

DH had bees before we got together. They didn't make it through that winter, it was brutally cold that year. Whatever it's always brutally cold in New England, lol. He has all the equipment, just needs bees. Although he wants to try a new (to him) kind of hive. He can build them this winter. I won't have much to do with them, which is fine by me!

DH stumbled upon a heavy duty, stainless steel pan for boiling down sap at a yard sale today. I mean these things retail for $400-500, good quality. He got it for $100. I was irritated that he spent the money at first but it'll boil down a lifetime of sap so I got over it. We did syrup with a friend last year, and used his not great quality pan, and I doubt he'll invest the energy to boil with us this year so now we don't need him!

Also DH just told me local people are having their dogs stolen from their yards by vehicles with out of state plates (mostly NY), and they're being used as bait dogs. Good day to carry a pistol I say. That really upset me today. Friends of ours had their 2 dogs taken. Clara would be a prime target for them because she kind of looks like a pit. Grrrr people are awful.

Cool find! I like good quality 'stuff' - even better when ya get it for a great price!

I hate a thief worse than anything! And to steal a dog to use as bait - GRRRRR! THEY need to be bait.

DH had his first day "off" in two weeks, but spent half of it mowing a lawn he gets paid for so.... Half day off? And we had so many errands to run (feed store, went to order pellets, etc) we didn't get a thing done here aside from feeding everyone. Sigh.

We did run into some friends we had lost touch with today. Last time we saw them I was pregnant with DD! Was nice to catch up, think we'll get back in touch now.

Also emailed 2 farms I found that at one point had golden guernseys, waiting to hear back from them about getting a doeling for spring. Both are within 2 hours of me, which is way better than the 4+ I have been expecting!

I am officially jealous! But, I will live vicariously through you, lol.

Cool that you ran into your friends! Hope you can reestablish your friendship.
