Yeah I think NH is a good place for them! I'm not full on adding a breed (yet), I'll breed a doe to a Nigie buck (if I get one) or Clifford and see how she produces before I invest in more does and/or a buck!

On another note, the meaties look great. Well, for meat birds. They're outside with only a regular light bulb at night now. Of course forecast says 38 Saturday night... But they should be ok with a little heat. We usually feed them slowly so they're healthier but this year we have a time crunch before it gets cold so I'm dumping feed in there like crazy. Amazing what those things can put away in a day! Kinda gross...

I can't even imagine 38 DEGREES! I want it - well kinda... I'd actually be ok with 58!

II was curious how the meaties are coming along. They really are freakish - but good at what they were created for - growing fast!

Today is supposed to be in the 80's again... But it's the end of it, thank goodness. Down into the 60's tomorrow, much better!

DH has not had any time off, so our barn is on hold, I have chickens that need to be culled, the pig needs to be moved... Eek! And he might have to work all weekend! Fortunately it means he's making good money so we can get our pellets ordered and go get hay soon. As long as we get our friend over here with his tractor before the ground freezes, we'll be ok... But I'm having a hard time being patient! Lol

I need to draw out what I want my barn to look like. Our friend says he recommends an 8x8 stall for farrowing, which is bigger than I expected so the darn pig is getting more of the barn than I had hoped! Oh well. I don't have that many goats!

Glad he's getting lots of work cuz lots of work equals lots of money! But, like you said - then there's no time. Crazy how that works. :D

Drawing out the barn will be the fun part! Silly pig will take a lot of room - but she won't need it year round, right? You could still use it for other things when she's not inside? Or will she be inside all winter?

She will be in the barn all winter, well with outside access of course. Her fence will be off the barn. Timing farrowing for April-ish and she'll be back out of the barn as soon as we can put fence posts in the ground. But we can use it for someone else in the spring, or just storage. The barn is truly bigger than we need for my tiny herd of goats.

This means I need more goats. Lol!!

Today was 65 and breezy, lovely day! Animals were all quite content. Got some good pics of the goats, that's Patty! She is just the sweetest!

Cliff's getting big. He's almost as tall as my Nigie doe at 5.5 months old!
