I am trying to not be stressed out right now. Really trying, lol. Nothing is getting done, and I've been having a rough time with DD lately. I see some ADHD traits, and my general laid back attitude isn't cutting it so I'm going to be working on a schedule for schooling and other things, chores lists, etc. And cracking down on her a little because my mother spoils the... You know what... out of her and we see her too often and it's starting to be a huge issue. Plus I'm tired (haven't been sleeping great), and grumpy and my to-do list is way too long.

Fiber class is tomorrow, then hopefully DH will get home early enough for us to get something accomplished. Sigh.

Don't be stressed... not a good time to be stressed... deep breathing exercises might help...wine would help more, lol. Oh wait...no wine for you...sorry.

Hopefully this is just a 'phase' for DD. Bless her heart - gramma spoiling her isn't contributing to anything good. I know you know how to handle this - it IS your wheelhouse for sure. And, I'll bet a schedule will help her...consistency and all that.

Hope fiber class goes great tomorrow!

When my kids were little and spent the weekend with the inlaws, it took a week to straighten them out. LOL

No kidding! We are neighbors so we see my parents way too much and my mom wins the spoiler of the year award. I wasn't feeling so hot a lot this summer with morning sickness and/or migraines so I let more slide than I should have. Now I'm paying for it. Sigh.

DH agreed to 2 GG doelings, and the woman said I am first on her list so that is totally possible! Her prices went up a tiny bit, but still lower than purebred Nigie prices. Same amount I paid for my minis actually, so a number I can live with. Yay!

I didn't have that problem with my parents and my kids. My parents were not interactive with most of their grandkids. Maybe that was a blessing I didn't recognize at the time!

Whoop for the GG doelings! I am so excited for you! When does kidding start for the breeders?

She'll be kidding in April, so I don't have to worry about my long drive until June-ish. She dam raises. It's a long time to wait but it's good timing for what I've got going on around here!

Off to fiber class this morning.

DD was amazing in class today. I got to walk away and talk to the owner of the farm/fiber shop while her assistant did projects. DD started to learn how to knit, which was frustrating for her but she kept trying. She's a perfectionist and gets anxious when learning new things (uh hello, I am her mother!)

So the teacher gave me a book to research sheep breeds and she has tons of connections statewide so she said she'll help me pick a breed if we decide we want sheep, and help me find a breeder. So I have some reading to do! I'm leaning towards sheep and away from alpacas because my husband doesn't like having animals we can't eat, so looking for dual purpose breeds. I've always been mildly obsessed with Icelandics, but she had me feel the difference between something made with her sheep (Corriedale) and Icelandic wool and I'm sold on not getting Icelandics now. They have their purpose, just not what I want.

Then we went to the library. The state of NH is doing a 1000 books before kindergarten challenge and they have 10 bags of 10 books to get started, so we got a book and came home and read 8 of them and 2 more books.

What a lovely day DD has had after a nightmare one yesterday. Huge relief for me!

Whew! I know you're breathing a sigh of relief that DD's day is going so much better! Interesting stuff about the difference in the way wool feels. Who woulda thought there'd be that much difference? Are Corriedale big sheep?
