Went to the feed store this morning. We're having hay supply issues so I bought a square bale so DH can deal with hay after work tomorrow. $7.99 and it's maybe... 40 lbs. Ridiculous!! Their feed prices are good but man... who buys hay there?

That's a fabulous deal for people who have a pet rabbit. Seriously, those little plastic bags of hay are marked up astronomically. I'm in the wrong business.... :p

They are, it's ridiculous! I suppose it would be a good deal for people with rabbits. I was really trying to figure out who was keeping up the demand enough for them to bother selling hay. That and people with a couple of hens probably, for nest boxes. And of course we just had a round bale dropped off that I didn't know was coming. Sheesh! Hope it's a good one, last one was moldy...

irst cut already??? Man... that'll be June/July here. Second around Labor Day.
I haven't seen a lot of hay cut already - but a couple of the big producers here who have really good fields have made the first cut.

Three cuts is pretty standard here - or at least it used to be. For the last couple years it hasn't happened because of alllll the rain.

I have a goat in my car. Woohoo! She's been on hay and minerals and no grain, she is not up to my standards of nigerian fatness lol. I shall remedy that!

She isn't like unhealthy skinny but she's thinner than I keep my Nigerians. She dragged DH to the barn, she totally remembers! And it was the first goat or sheep ride EVER that had zero pee or poo in my car. Good girl!

She's SUCH a good girl! It really is cool when they remember you! I've sold goats at a show and would see them at another show later and have them call out to me and run up for scritches. It's so sweet!

Our normal hay guy showed up with a beauty of a dry round bale while we were gone. Very happy about that!

Two people have nearly gotten stuck in our driveway in the past two days. I'm just happy neither of them was me! Lol!

Aw that is sweet! I don't know if she remembered us at first but when we got her home it clicked I think. Though she was awful calm in the ride home, maybe she did remember. She just lied down and ate hay. Her hooves look good, they're better at trimming them than we are lol! I need to get a lesson I think!
